Hate to say it, they need to do it before some of the main cast starts dying off.

Let's be really real, there's not going to be a Simpsons 2.
It's a concept that is always going to be on the table but they aren't going to go for it.

The first movie came out ten years too late. So it figures the sequel would be ten years past that.
