Yes it is. Even though Wayne was cancer free when filming, it is a great swan song film for a legendary actor. Like On Golden Pond for Fonda.

Great movie. First movie my dad and I watched on the TV I got in my room in 2nd grade after I had saved money for a year and a half as a kid.

I hated it. Liked Big Jake much better. I could see the production values in his later movies declining.
