Of course I did not see it. It is an example of Hollywood being out of good ideas

The idea is actually fricking brilliant because it lends itself to the exploration of class and race in America, an exploration that has largely been ignored both in the films and society at large. So it's really an execution thing, not a concept thing. As a concept, it is fantastic, regardless of its improbability.

you know damn well that the writers aren't trying to explore class and race they're using a retarded Hobbesian premise to pander to retards and teenagers that want to go see spooky masks and gory deaths

I don't understand why you wouldn't just go hang out in Canada for a day or take a vacation to Europe instead of locking yourself in your home for a night.

Yes... maybe she's not elected yet and is just running for office?

Just saw it last night, the officials in charge of the government make it where top officers and officials are eligible for the Purge in hopes of having the blonde chick murdered in the process.

Also, it's an unwritten rule to not harm EMS and those type of people during the Purge.

I watched it also....the whole movie is based on "hate rich white folk". The undertones of white people are bad and minorities are good is overwhelming

I saw this on Saturday, and I'd say it's probably the best out of the three Purge films.

However a warning to those wanting to see it in theatres: there is a lot of "riff raff" going out to see it so be warned.

Try to see a matinee and don't sit in the back.

I felt very uncomfortable leaving the theatre being the 5% of white folks watching it on Sunday night in Nola.

If all crimes are legal - I wish they did a Purge movie where they show people committing crimes that most people would actually do.

Rob banks, larceny, burglary, grand theft auto, basically most property crimes where people are trying to get rich quick...like almost all people try to get rich everyday working.

But no, apparently if we legalize crime for one night, everyone just wants to murder each other.

I saw this last night and it wasn't too bad. Not as good as the first two, but still fun (in a Saw kind of way). I really wish they would keep it going, show other parts of the country, expand it some kind of way.

they addressed this in the other movies. Banks have hidden their money and people are protecting their wealth. People will go for easy targets. Its about culling the poor and people that are a drag on society, along with indulging your violent impulses. Its not realistic, but it's not really supposed to be..
