Late to the party. Finally watched this film. It's been on my list for some time and it recently came up because it's the 30th anniversary. Wow, it was really entertaining and I had no idea Andre the Giant was in it. Definitely recommend for everyone still holding out.

The only thing from the movie I already knew from pop culture was the "My name is Inigo Montoya..." line. Other than that, it was fresh. The poisoned wine scene is definitely my favorite.

fun fact
Everytime Andre flew to Japan he wouldn't eat or drink anything that day and night before the flight

An anesthesiologist had to determine how much medicine to put him to sleep by asking him how much wine he can drink and get drunk

If this is a movie I grew up with, I can tell it would have been one of my all time favorites. I'm sure once this movie continues to grow on me, I'll hold it in very high regard.

That's an understatement. The guy is the greatest drinker who ever lived. Rob Reiner claimed that he literally drank 20 bottles of wine before shooting his final scene. The Guinness Book of World Records says he holds the confirmed record of drinking 119 beers in 6 hours, with many of his acquaintances claiming he's drank more than that. He once responded to a last call by ordering 40 vodka tonics and drinking them in front of the bartender in under an hour. I seriously doubt anyone in human history could outdrink Andre.

Thank goodness he wasn't someone's proctologist. Namely mine.

It's not his fault he was the biggest and the strongest. He didn't even exercise.

Yeah Andre was incredible and if he liked you he would pay for all your food and drinks.

He knocked the ultimate warrior out in a match by just sticking his fist out

I love seeing him as Robin of Loxley in “Men in Tights”, but my favorite role of his is as the cat burgler Despero in “Psych”.

I was about to say that I was pretty sure he played Despero on Psych too. He was a good foil for Shawn and Gus.

I've been wanting to watch this movie for a while since everyone says it's great. Saw the old Blade Runner last night, will probably watch The Princess Bride tonight.
