Will Ferrell aka the Gator was awesome in this movie, its been awhile since ive heard the theatre laugh as loud as it did throughout whole movie

It was pretty damn funny. If you like Ferrell, you'll like it. RT gives it an 80%, which is a little ambitious, but it's funny.

I thought the movie overall was okay, Ferrell was excellent but Wahlberg was absolutely terrible. He really took away from things. When Ferrell plays these types of roles he should just stick to John C. Reily as his #2.

It was pretty good. Wasn't absolutely hilarious, but was really solid. Actually was a lot more funny than I thought it'd be, though. They didn't give away much at all in the previews.
I disagree that Wahlberg was bad, I thought he had some good moments. He didn't seem as natural with Ferrell as Reilly does, of course, but I definitely wouldn't say he "took away" from Ferrell/the movie.

He seems really forced and almost awkward in the previews, which is one reason I didn't think this would be very good.

It's not a horrible movie, Ferrell did a really good job, Wahlberg just didn't play off of him well. When he's playing that stupid/innocent role like in Step Brothers or in Talladega Nights he needs another idiot playing off of him like John C. Reily can do so well.
