This is regarding the Season 7 proposal to Holly.

One of the sweetest moments in TV history.

So much dust in my living room.

Just wanted to make it a point to bring that up

The way everyone got involved was just so damn touching. Even before the proposal when Pam brought him into the conference room to discuss the how, and how everyone was behind his proposing.

So many feels.

The last scene of that episode was so bitter sweet. The way everyone just stared in shock when he said he was moving was chilling.

It was VERY well done, and felt like a finale episode on its own. It's crazy that he says that at the end of the episode and then leaves the show four episodes later.

It was absolutely the perfect way for a character like Michael to propose to someone like Holly. Perfect.

Michael: "Guys, we're moving to Colorado."
Kevin: "All of us?"
Michael: "Yep."

Honestly, I was never a fan of Holly.

Jan was the antithesis of Michael's personality. While you never felt like they were meant for each other because she never really accepted Michael for who he was, there was a sense that she brought balance to the relationship.

Holly and Michael being two, big personalities had that feel that they would destroy the world together.

I never saw Holly as a particularly "big" personality. She always seemed pretty shy and reserved, just a little quirky. It was with Michael that her quirkiness was allowed to shine, and they both fed off of it in their own, awkward, unique, weird arse way. It's why they were perfect for each other IMO.

From the first minute she was on screen, I always felt like she was perfect for him.

Jan was always a train wreck. Always. As glad as I was to see Michael get to bang the "hot office chick/boss," that relationship was always doomed to fail, and did so in the most hilarious ways possible (Jan destroying Michael's "flat screen"? Come on..that was greatness).

Jan/Michael was a train wreck that equaled great TV. Holly/Michael were two soulmates that ended up together in the end that also equaled great TV.

ETA I will also say the Michael/Jan/Holly provided some of the most uncomfortably awkward moments in TV history. I to this day have to watch the dinner party with my finger on the FF button bc there s parts that I can't handle.

Michael Scott is arguably the greatest TV character ever.

The Dinner Party is one of the greatest episodes of all time:

- Camera in the bedroom
- Michael's bed
- Michael's flat screen
- Hunter's album
- Dwight's date
- Serenity by Jan

Dinner Party was the first episode I ever saw of the show. I was like "I've heard The Office is good, let me check this out." And I was dying, even not knowing much about any of the characters.

Went out the next day and bought S1-3 on DVD, caught up on the show that weekend, and never missed an episode after that. I was hooked.

It's funny because I just got to "Goodbye, Toby" and Holly was introduced this episode. I hate her for a couple of reasons, but overall, because she's the downfall of Michael. I don't care about their love story because she's awkward, kinda useless other than the fact that she single handedly brought the show to shambles by taking Michael away.

SPOILERS

What I really loved about Michael Proposing and the several episodes leading to his departure, is that Michael exhibits behavior that makes you question how he even manages to make it on his own. It's really quite scary when you see it.

From Classy Christmas Michael is an insufferable jerk, he can't even navigate Scranton on foot by himself, and doesn't understand that gasoline is explosive. But leading up to this we see him learn to accept constructive criticism (Threat Level Midnight), accept that Todd Packer was a jerk and not a good person (Todd Packer), and he even managed to not be self centered and not make last day all about himself (Goodbye Michael).

I don't know if it was intentional, but I think we were supposed to see Michael as this guy that had he left Scranton and the office, he probably wouldn't be alright. But with these several episodes we see Michael capture the love he was always looking for, and transform into a man that we as the audience feel comfortable knowing that this man is going to be okay now.

One of the most emotional scenes of the entire show is when Jim realizes that Michael is leaving that day, but keeps up the charade because they both know that it's too difficult to say goodbye. That was an incredibly emotional scene and you can tell that the emotion from both actors was real.

I think it goes hand in hand with him finding the love and acceptance he had always so desperately seeked. From his appearance on Fundle Bundle as a kid, he just was someone that struggled to fit in and needed somebody to share happiness with. Holly was his soulmate and brought the best of him out from behind his constant effort to fit in.

I'm pretty sure it was the actors in that moment. Those emotions were way too on point for it to be Jim Halpert and Michael Scott. Carell and Krasinski are both good actors, but that was Oscar level shite if they were strictly in character.

I never liked Holly. Just felt like a hollow character that wasn't really funny at all, unlike all the other characters. Even Toby made me laugh for god's sake.

Toby was actually one of my favorite characters on the show because he's HR, he's the enemy, and got sh*t on all series long.

It was hard not to laugh at his struggles.

Toby/Michael's exchanges were always awesome.
