The Newsroom Season 3 (Series Finale Tonight, "What Kind of Day Has it Been?")

It is. 6 episodes starting tonight and running through December 14th. I'll probably start it up right after UK's exhibition game.

I'm watching. Im a sucker for some Sorkin dialogue, thanks for posting the synopsis of season 2.

Well the constant bitching pretty well derails the threads about the actual show.

Like I said though, nobody is stopping anyone from starting another thread about it.

I hate libs but I still enjoy this show for the most part.

It was a solid opening show. Boston Bombing; potential espionage; hostile takeovers.

It should also be noted that Charlie Skinner may be the perfect character, but Sloan Sabbith is a close second for me. The fact that I get Sloan and Don together in most scenes is also just a bounty of fun.

And yes, I am basing my love of Charlie Skinner on one line: The retort to haven't you had enough bourbon for a lifetime?

"Not my lifetime." As a UGA fan, I can commiserate.

Considering there are only 5 more shows to go and already 20 on HBOGO, you can.

Watched the first two seasons recently, then rewatched with my wife. Instantly became one of my favorite series. I think it is the most intelligently witty show on television in the last few years. So sad that this will be the last season (and a short one at that). I have no problem separating the politics of a tv show from reality, but as a disgruntled Republican they actually hit the nail on the head for me politically. I didn't think I would buy Jeff Daniels in a fairly dramatic role, but he is awesome. And I instantly fell in love with Emily Mortimer. And Sloan, rather subtly, is one of the best characters on tv.

I think I have finally realized why so many reviews of The Newsroom insist on disliking it so much. Basically, just about every TV review is written by people whose jobs consist of being "cool" on the internet where snark rules. The reason why I enjoy its idealism is because my job consists of me being stressed about many decisions that will definitely impact the amount of money my clients will spend and could also impact the lives of their pets. I enjoy getting to kick back and listen to great dialogue spoken by talented actors that work incredibly well off each other. I don't have to care about how unrealistic it is. I have plenty of real in my own life.

And quite frankly, I agree that modern journalism has been almost completely destroyed by the internet even though it should have been enhanced by it via the addition of speed and many more viewpoints. Instead everyone just decided that posting "a" story first was good enough and no one really bothers to understand any story, so all those additional viewpoints go to waste. We go to the source that most closely resembles our own thoughts and no one ever ends up trying to collect and collate the greater data to put out an actual story. It is just on to the next news cycle and endless trivial criminal stories.
