I'm gonna DVR the first few episodes so I can finish my rewatch on bluray.

The fact that Lynch is directing and co-writing ALL 18 episodes is fantastic. And being on premium TV is a bonus.

As someone who never watched the original, do I need to watch or will this be stand alone?

you need to watch the original. in the correct order I might add (with respect to the movie).

Basically, Pilot episode, Season 1, Season 2, Fire Walk With Me (movie) - in that order

I'm doing this exact thing. I bought the bluray a while back and decided to rewatch it all.

Man I've got to do a quick rally through the original. Might have to even wait on the new series a week or so. Didn't realize it was here so soon.

And RIP Albert

The original creeped me the frick out. I couldn't make it through. Made me feel like I was tripping.

I've never seen the original and really just don't have the time to binge it.

Will the new one still be good without it?

Seems like a tough question to ask when no one has watched it yet

I'd guess it wouldn't make much sense. Watch the original. It's made for binging.

I guess my question was more "Would it make sense? Or is this new series a sequel?"

I didn't know if its a remake or not.

Thanks. I think I'll record the new one and watch the original stuff first.

So excited for this...always held out hope that the "see you again in 25 years" might come in to play.
