Story line was horrible and made zero sense. Keanu trying to act with so many emotional ranges was hard to try to digest to immerse yourself in the movie.

You could have stopped right here.

Innovative special effects sort of helped hide a really stupid plot.

NdTiger,

One of my nitpicking issues is recasting 2 of the big 4 from the original trilogy.

Either dive in head first to the shallow end of the nostalgia pool of emotion or recast everyone.

The plot line was the same as the other ones, ie not supposed to be understood.

I agree. It was worth seeing. It won't be rewatchable bc it's too long but they did a pretty good job with it.

they should have found a better Morpheus, even if they had to give him a very different look.

Who was the other one besides Laurence Fishburne? If you're complaining about the Oracle being recast, the actor literally died between filming of Reloaded and Revolutions.

Movie didn't move the needle for me. Kind of boring. They should have called it the Meh-trix.

What was hard to understand about the first one?

That was my takeaway. I enjoyed the two hours of revisiting the Matrix world. I thought the casting was good and the story was fine. I would’ve liked to see more badassery from Neo but whatever, we got a lot of that in the original trilogy.

There was so much they could have done with the beginning. It was really interesting. But the big "reveal" was terrible and the rest of the move was very bland.

Would have been upset to have paid to see this in theaters, luckily it on HBO

After two and three I wouldn't have paid to see it in a theater. My interest would not have been sufficient enough to make the effort.

I was willing to push a couple of buttons on the remote though.

Had a ho-hum reaction to the movie. Considering the crap being shoveled out of Hollywood these days, ho-hum is not too bad.

I lasted 20 minutes.
Garbage. But it looked like garbage in the trailer.
Buddy told me it was worth the watch. I no longer take movie recs from him.

Second best Matrix movie (not a big accomplishment). Give them props for coming up with a plot to bring them back. Left a lot of potential on the table though.

Yeah the forcible girl power schtick was almost as bad as Star Wars. Which is funny because the original trilogy had such great females like Trinity, The Oracle, the Frenchman program’s wife. This movie was awful and boring. If you’re going to do a reboot with a crappy story then you gotta nail the nostalgia and they just sorta mailed it in. Would have been even more disappointed had I gone to the movies to watch it vs watching at home on HBO.
