Not wrong, just wrong for me.

I'm not crazy about Fozzy's new voice. But all in all this was pretty funny. Dancing with the Czars was good shite. "Only one note!"

I found myself laughing out loud a bunch. This has got real potential, especially if they get weekly big name guest stars.

When Zoot from the Electric Mayhem stood up at the production meeting and thought it was AA, I was dying.

Or Kermit dropped the, "I'm living in a bacon wrapped Hell"
"Hey, you can't say Hell"

Seriously, there were some great moments in that episode. It's definitely in the rotation.

The Hunger Games audition. "Did you even read the script." "Ummm it's called the Hunger games."

Is Dave Goelz (Gonzo) the last remaining original talent?

Steve Whitmire has been a Muppeteeer since the first Muppet Movie, though he wasn't on the first TV show.

My three year old, who loves the Muppets, looked up at me after I laughed at the bear joke:

"Daddy, that's not funny."

I was laughing hard. My wife had no idea why until I explained it to her.

While it had some funny moments, it just wasn't . . . fun. The muppets normally make me smile, this didn't.

Make sense?

Not really. It was a great first episode. I thought it was smart and funny. You can definitely tell the show is geared towards 30 & 40 year olds that grew up with the Muppets. Maybe it's nostalgia or whatever but I loved it.

I thought it was fun. It had Fozzie getting clobbered by a monster and Animal playing and then falling into a gigantic drum. It still has a lot of the zaniness of the old show. Mowgli liked those parts.

I was very happy that one of my favorite muppets, Pepe the King Prawn, had a healthy part. Looking forward to more of that.

The only think I didn't like is Denise's voice. It's awful.

Agree with all this. Loved the episode and really excited for the rest of the season. Was surprised how "adult themed" much of the material was.

Haven't seen it yet, it'll be on Hulu today, but I've already seen several mom's on FB complaining about watching this with their kids and how they were upset it was adult oriented and now they can't let their kids watch

It always was. The first episode of the Muppet Show was titled Sex and Violence. It became kiddy-fied after Henson left.

quote:

In this half-hour variety special, the Muppets parody the proliferation of sex and violence on television.

Nigel, Sam the Eagle, and hippie guitarist Floyd prepare for a Pageant based on the Seven Deadly Sins, with Muppets representing the Sins -- Envy, Anger, Gluttony, Vanity, Lust, Avarice and Sloth.
