The leftovers (no spoilers- season 1)

I just binged through the first season. I'm not sure why it's so intriguing, because I really don't know where it's going, but it is.
Seems like the theme is a very realistic one about how people cope with what their purpose is or how they deal with unexplainable tragedies. That's why I like it, I think.
Anyway, I see it has a season 2 but any word on further seasons or does season 2 wrap it up? I don't hear it talked about a lot but I think it's a great shiw

Finally been catching up blowing through some DVR and Leftovers Season 2 is now on the block. This season is really dark but really good. I have a few episodes left in the season.
Did it get picked up for a third or am I closing in on the end?

I used the search function and drug this one up from about 4 or 5 months. This show just got darker too.

It's the best tv series currently on television that nobody talks about. S2 was great television.

Season 1 is great. Season 2 is brilliant.
Season 3 is filming and will air in early 2017. It will be the last season. It has a very loyal audience but ratings are low

It's an incredibly well put together package - the acting is fantastic, the score definitely contributes to the mood and the story fits in an unusual notch between supernatural/psychological thriller, family dramedy and police procedural. Normally, this would result in some flailing around, but it is also focused and linear enough to drive through the jarring turns like a slow motion rollercoaster.
I'm a fan.

I wrapped up season two last night. This was the first series since Breaking Bad that I've had an emotional investment. Sad to hear they are gonna end it after season three.

Don't be. They consumed the novel material during the first season. The author has worked with them to expand the story to a conclusion. In somewhat of a backtrack, they hint that Season 3 will provide an explanation of what actually happened to the departures. In a way I hope they don't really. The show is about the Leftovers. It's in the name.
