I haven’t played the game (I prefer pvp MMO’s), so I was surprised she died that quickly. I’d love to see more of a backstory on them.

For the straight chicks and gay dudes, I think we can find common ground that half nekkid Pedro Pascal would be much more entertaining to watch than half nekkid Nick Offerman. For the straight dudes and lesbians, there’s a chick that might even show her tits. Win/ win for everyone.

straight couples do anal now

Some do but that’s just so they can satisfy their homosexual urges without having to admit or be called “gay”.

Something I’ve noticed is that the posters who actually thought the episode was great simply talk about the story and character development. Meanwhile the other posters who hated it or didn’t like it seem to be mostly stuck on gay sex. Kind of telling ain’t it

Yeah, i have noticed that as well

It was a good episode, but not really what I was hoping for (not because i hate the gays). I was looking forward to the Ellie/Bill conversations which we wont get now. Aside from my disappointment with that, I thought it was a very good episode.

There was no character development and it didn't advance the story. The people claiming otherwise are hacks.

You're being purposefully disingenuous by saying there was no character development and that it didn't advance the story. There were both.

Just because it didn't develop in a way that you preferred doesn't mean the development doesn't exist.

This has to be the most talked-about episode in MTVB history

Between all the threads, there's got to be 100 pages

I definitely would have enjoyed maybe seeing their interactions with those casted too.

I had an exchange earlier in the thread where we wondered out loud if the episode would've been better fit in a later episode where the opportunity for them to interact in present day would have been allowed.

But I didn't play the game so I don't know everything that is going to come to pass. I've also read where the creators have added at least one other character that wasn't in the game at all so, I don't know where it would have fit in.

I stopped posting in this thread since it's only a gay debate, but putting the gay part aside, it was just a filler love story episode. It would have been the same thing had it been a straight couple. But if you're going to say it had character development, you need to change it to "dead character development." Characters that no longer matter and only mattered for one episode.

Edit: I'm wrong here...Now if Bill ends up being alive, it's a different story. But for him to be alive, that would be breaking canon, which doesn't seem to be in line with what they say they are doing, staying true to the game.

Fair enough. The main point still stands.

Lol. The entire episode was about the evolution of a character that didn’t give a shite about the world or living in it for that matter and for that to be a complete 180 simply because he found a connection with another human that mattered to him. That’s all people really want, connection to others and I would say especially so in an apocalyptic world. Sometimes that connection is romantic, other times it’s platonic. I don’t come on TD looking to frick. I come on TD looking to connect and discuss topics with other human beings.

The entire journey of the episode was two-fold from a character standpoint. The effects of Bill’s characterization through the letter impacts Joel to try and find the same thing Bill found. So yeah, two characters were very much dynamic and changed in this episode. Your failure to see that just goes to show how much of a pleb and hack you really are.
