Got the chance to check it out Friday night and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Not a huge Wes Anderson fan, as I think he is very hit or miss, but thought this one was great.

Thoughts from the board?

Watched it for the first time yesterday. Loved it. Great acting, great dialog, funny, great sets, love the use of miniatures, really everything. Second favorite film of the year.

Excellent movie.

Did feel like there wasn't much of a point to it though.

But that's par for the course for Wes Anderson. Just a great story teller.

I have got to see this movie.

I've loved some Anderson movies and I just could not get into a few of them.

But I have yet to hear bad things about this one?

I always like seeing Jeff Goldblum in his movies.

One of my favorite Anderson movies now:

Bottle Rocket
Rushmore
GBH
Royal Tennenbaums
Moonrise Kingdom
Life Aquatic
Darjeeling

Love them all though

I've been thoroughly bored and underwhelmed by a few of his films, but I really liked this one.

Yeah. I figured out early on to enjoy the story as it was told. We knew the ending from the start, so the movie was about the journey.

Was really a movie about nothing but it doesn't matter. Like others said, wes anderson is a good story teller. Great film

A film about nothing? I've heard that several times and I don't get it? How was it about nothing. It was a coming of age tale told in the backdrop of the fall out of Madame D's death.

it's got a legit story. i don't get the "it's about nothing" line of thought. it's a light-hearted crime caper/road movie combo

Actually, I think the reason why most people respond to it so well is that it is one of the few movies this year with genuine heart. I lay that almost all at Ralph Fiennes feet. He won't get one, but he completely deserves a best actor nomination from Oscar. It was an extraordinarily nuanced performance, and it is very hard to give a truly sincere performance in such an over the top character.
