The "sort of" sequel to The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo". It will also be re-cast.

Fede Álvarez (director of Don't Breath) is directing as well. I'm excited.

The Hannibal series did something similar. I wanted true sequels as well, but my dissapointment is overshadowed by the fact that Álvarez is directing. This should be solid.

That's what they made it into, but it wasn't written by Stieg Larrson. I honestly haven't even seen the first American one. I thought the originals were great, so I have no need to see a remake.

Kind of like getting excited for the American version of Let The Right One In.

I thought I read a while back that Alicia Vikander was already cast in this.

I loved the Fincher one (I'm a little biased as he's my favorite director), but thought the Swedish ones were great. Really wish they would have finished out the series.

I'm a little over halfway through reading this one right now, and it just doesn't have the same feel as when Steig was writing them, but the story is just as compelling.
