That poster is awesome. The special effects it took to not make Carrie Fisher into a cow must have taken millions of dollars to produce.

To add: The glare off the star is cleverly placed to look like the sparks between two light sabers making contact, so I'm starting to feel pretty confident the girl is a Skywalker/Jedi. Her with a double sided light saber could be kick arse too I think.

It's an awful word that is used way too often and many times in varying contexts.
But I see it as saying, "This movie or character or plot point or whatever is overdone in this genre. The very use of such makes the movie feel like a caricature of something already done rather than an original idea."
So for me, I'm having a hard time buying into Kylo Ren. The prequels were way too heavy on the martial arts fighting, and I think Ren looks like a ninja Vader. I expect him to have an overly sinister voice with hackneyed lines to show him being the evil guy.
An example of this is Darth Maul. I mean just look at this guy:
He looks like a devil. I'm surprised he didn't have a pitchfork light saber and a long red tail.
