Flashpoint Barry makes the most sense. A guy who's had everything taken away from him. For all we know FPB's iris died early on and he found this Barry and killed iris to put him through the same agony he felt.

It's a never ending cycle. He says as much earlier in the season when he's speaking through Julian. Something to the effect of "I'm sorry you have to die Iris, but it's either me or you." There is no Savitar if there's an Iris.

I hope you're right. I really don't want to have to watch supergirl. The problem though is savitar seems to have lived through the specific moments of tonight's episode.

What reason would this timeline Barry have to hurt the current team? Savitar would have to be created from something. Seeing Savitar kill iris doesn't make sense because Barry would have to start that loop from somewhere. It would make sense that Flashpoint Barry would because he lost everything but this episode insinuates that it's this timeline. I think they don't want you to think about it too much. Just like the slow as snail Barry who can't catch a flying ship but can stop a projectile shot from only 50 ft away.

Even if they are going to say it's a loop of savitar created by savitar killing Iris, it's possible for the on-ramp to the loop being some other event. Someone else killed iris originally, creating savitar. Then he returns to torment the team and do it himself. Doesn't make nearly as much sense as flashpoint Barry but it's possible.

I don't know of a show that handles time travel worse than The Flash. It's like they invent new rules every time he does it.

This is a result of a different timeline when Iris was a trashy abusive wife and hit him with a hot iron. This caused the first loop so he went on a killing spree of all time remnant Iris's. In Savitar's mind, he is the hero. He said so himself. He is trying to get rid of Iris because she also becomes fat and crazy.

This is going to be an awkward conversation for Barry and Iris/Joe next episode.

Well when iris and Joe find out that it's Barry that kills her, they decide to team up and betray Barry to his death, leading to him plotting revenge on Iris, leading to their betrayal, etc?

Well, we've seen an Earth with an evil Vibe and Firestorm. The infinite multiverse/future theory allows for an Earth with an evil Team Flash, or an Iris and Team Flash that do something so horrible that it drives Barry to becoming Savatar. From his perspective, he could be stopping the end of the world.

I agree completely but that doesn't fit with the context of the last episode. He acted like he'd lived these very events, which flashpoint Barry had not.

So theoretically the future Barry that we saw last week becomes Savitar even though he successfully caught "himself" with the help of the lady from this week. This just gives me a headache.
I just think there is another explanation as to how Savitar knew what Barry was going to say.
