I watched the movie last night: The movie was pretty good. I didn't think it was as great as so many claim but whatever.

But the end just felt like a mess. I understand they wanted to leave what would happen next to be ambiguous but that's a total cop out the way they went about it. They challenge each other for later. Really? Why even have that scene in there then? Nothing happens.

Also, the movie seemed scared to paint Chris Pine as a definitive bad guy which is bullshite.

Also, I refuse to believe the police didn't find evidence about the bank trying to repossess the ranch or any of that. I wondered briefly if the bank was covering it up but that also makes no sense.

This is all I needed to read from you, you can't be helped. Go watch Transformers or Twilight

The moral ambiguity of the ending was one of my favorite parts TBH. The bigger cop out would have been to paint them as purely good or evil subjects. It allowed the audience to choose who they sympathized with as opposed to being told who to sympathize with.

It also showed that both of the characters were just men with their own motivations and interpretations of what occurred. Pine's character wasn't some evil caricature, but still was a bit arrogant and proud of what he had done, while Bridges' character wasn't some holier-than-thou agent of justice; he wanted murder and vengeance.

That's because he wasn't supposed to be. If there was a "definitive" bad guy in the movie, it was the bank. Some may even say Ben Foster's character, who you end up sympathising with in the end.

You should stick with horseshite movies like Ong-Bak. Seems like more your style.

Dude... The final scene is the best 5-7 minutes of the entire movie....It's one of the best scenes in years.

How can you argue that Chris Pine's character wasn't evil? He knew what he was doing was wrong and his actions led to 4 people getting killed. Why? Because he was a fricking selfish piece of shite. Sure, he wasn't doing it for personal gain. But his seamen stains were so special that they deserve to be rich. BS.

Ben fosters character was the least sympathetic. He just started unloading on cops at the end

Definitely the least sympathetic character, but I still couldn't help feeling bad for him in the end.

This essentually was a "down with the big banks" type of movie, though. The bank was the main villain here.

Wasn't that hard of a choice.

Why would anyone sympathize with a cop or the banks?

Money is insured...he wasn't taking money out of the pocket of his neighbors.
