Don't know if a spoiler alert is needed for a movie almost 3 years old but there ya go...

I finally watched it last night. Did I miss something at the end with Bruce Wayne/Batman surviving the nuclear blast or am I just supposed to believe that Batman is that much of a baller?

Also I was kind of distracted but what was Morgan Freeman talking to the guys about when he asked how he could fix it or something and they said it was already fixed by a Bruce Wayne software patch 6 months ago?

Thanks

THey were talking about the autopilot on the bat being fixed and the last Id that was logged in was Bruce Wayne. Implying he fixed the autopilot and survived the crash

Well that makes sense. Of course I would spend 3 hours watching the movie to miss the most important sentence.

The ending is supposed to be up to the viewers interpration as to whether he survived or not. They put indicators in (the autopilot, the fixed bat signal, Bruce at the end with Selena wearing the missing necklace) to add to his surving if that is what you believe. Some say given the amount of time that passed since his last appearance on screen and the bomb going off that he cold not have survived.

FWIW, I take it that he made it to a new life.

No, it's not. He survived. Auto-pilot on the bat, then Alfred sees him and Selina Kyle at the restaurant. He unambiguously survived.

I'm thankful that TDKR gave me one of my favorite movie scenes and villain monologues when Bane breaks Batman. I watch it up to that point and then turn it off. I pretend the rest of the movie doesn't exist. It goes downhill pretty quickly.

Bruce Wayne/Batman survives it is not up to interpretation at all. TDKR is a great movie.

This movie is overrated. It's enjoyable but the plot was... I don't know the word I'm looking for... It just seemed a little ridiculous at times.
