Anyone else?
Just hits a little different. I love this show.

I like it but I find the semi-modern language and interactions a bit jarring. Takes me out of the period.

It gives a whole different perspective of how we were taught and learned about Jesus. Very relatable interactions with levity. Just remember conversations were added that are not in the Bible to make the experience more natural and real. I impressed and captivated.

I enjoyed it but them portraying Matthew as Rainman was a big turnoff. I dreaded every scene with him.

I rather enjoy it. It actually helps me remember to see the series as biblical fan fiction and not a substitute for the real gospels.
I compare it to other art forms with biblical themes. They all take a little artistic license.

I love it too. I’m looking forward to the future episodes that will deal with the Easter Week themes.
The show has everyone so invested in these characters, that I predict the passion episodes will be brutally difficult to handle for most.

So I thought this at first, too. But Matthew's gospel is very "dry" in its account, in comparison to the other three. When an event happens in multiple Gospels, Matthew's is written like an unbiased, succinct observer. I can honestly see how/why you would protray him as being autistic.

Agreed.

You are in the minority. It reinforces the theme that Jesus’ disciples were just regular people with “faults”. Just like you and me.

The Chosen during Easter
Just finished the episode in season 3 where Jesus discusses with Little James why his ministry will be more impactful if he doesn't heal him. Don't remember if he's described as a cripple in the Bible, but it's a very powerful scene.

I read that season 4 streaming release is delayed due to legal issues so they extended the theatrical run

We're still in season 2 and will definitely watch a bunch this weekend. I need to stop myself from being busy with house projects.

I’ve heard this criticism a few times and although I understand it, I couldn’t disagree more.
The message is meant to be timeless. This story has been told for 2000 years. The language, mannerisms, people can and should change.
But the message should and does stay the same.
No different than translating other literature over millennia

See, I think Christians need to watch it more than any.

Where can you stream it after Season 1? I think I’m going to start it soon.

A considerable amount has changed from scripture, some more important than others. I would warn against anyone watching this. If you must watch it, to exercise discernment.
I know I’m in the minority, but I know where I stand and why I believe it.

For example?
I found the acting pretty good, the choices pretty good as well. I finished season 3 on easter Sunday. The basics of everything seems pretty spot on from my old CCD training back in the day. I will readily admit to not knowing the bible very well, curious to hear your thoughts.
That actor that played Nicodemus was the best part of the show.
