Maybe my brain was tired but I never expected the ending to this movie. When it was over I realized I had been holding my breath for the last five minutes...... Frickin Nazis

I really liked the movie until the last five minutes....... I think the only way it could have been worse was if Bruno's parents saw the black smoke overhead

This movie still haunts me so many years after I saw it. It's definitely one of those movies you don't watch twice.

This movie is a damn good look into Auschwitz

The Grey Zone

Based on the real-life events and featuring a first-rate ensemble cast, this compelling and harrowing film chronicles a unit of Auschwitz's Sonderkommando, a special squad of Jewish prisoners who staged the only armed revolt that would ever take place at Auschwitz.

The Grey Zone: Part I

The Grey Zone: Part II

I wanted to see it, my wife bought the DVD. Watched it once.
Bridge to Terabithia has a similar ending. No rewatchability at all with these movies.

"The Night Falls", the HBO documentary directed by Hitchcock, using German film, is one of the more graphic films ever made. To the extent the Govt, here & in Britain, kept it from being shown at that time. A lot of the typical films will show prisoners lined up along a barbed wire fence, or off loading a train, piles of dead bodies, etc. This one shows a dead prisoner, his skull crushed, leaving most of his brains spilled out onto concrete. Children being dissected. etc.

One of the most ludicrous stories ever put to film. NONE of that could have happened.

Which "none of that" are you referring to?

Recently watched a documentary on the families of various Nazi war criminals on NetFlix. One was a narration by the son of the commandant of Auschwitz. He had some family pictures showing a gate leading from the family home into the camp itself, a long fence around it. Touring the camp for the documentary, he found the home with the gate/fence. So, yea, it was quite obviously possible, certainly not off the charts impossible.

Great flick. It reminded me of a classic Twilight Zone episode.

A man remorselessly builds a killing machine only to have that machine devour his beloved son and marriage along with it.
