Well, I'm sure that how mortgage backed securities are used is extremely regulated. I wouldn't be as worried for a financial crisis as I would a real estate bubble burst._

This is absolutely happening in places like Denver, Nashville, Austin, New Orleans, Portland, San Francisco, Brooklyn, ect. Basically, the housing bubble this time is in rental property, so anywhere you see lots of hipsters, there's probably a housing bubble.

I have heard similar things. AirBNB/Homeaway have created markets that have an inflated sense of self.
Cities will begin cracking down too.
Perfect example is Austin. There are attractive neighborhoods where half of the homes are on airbnb part of the year. It can be argued that this is making inconsistent communities.

Great movie.
Awesome actors. Steve Carrell was great. Wish I could have seen Bale's character more. That guy made a ton of money and proved the doubters wrong.

I prefer Margin Call, but this one was pretty good
I feel like Margin Call is very underrated. I don't know many people IRL who ever saw it.
I wish it was still on Netflix.
The Big short is great as well if you're into movies about the situation.

I watched it on a plane and was bored out of my mind If you get bored watching a movie on a plane and would rather just sit there and look out the window, its not a good movie
you're a shill who thinks too highly of your own intelligence. if this was boring for you, it's only because you've mentally ejaculated to so many impossible conspiracy theories that you've dulled your sense of reality

this movie brought me back to 2007 when JerseyTiger and Col Hap were calling the fall on the poli board
it led to the money board being created

Yes.
And as legit as it seems in terms of exposing the issue, it really doesn't get at the real core of the problem -- still it's a good movie and does expose slightly enough to save it from being a horrifically misleading agenda piece.

Too Big to Fail is a fun watch as well.

I don't know the full extent of what you're saying here, but I think I might agree.
It's an honest but one-sided account of the crisis. It's informative and entertaining. I liked it. I think Too Big to Fail is a better historical dramatization (they're not really doing the same thing), and Big Short is a better "explainer" movie for most people.
But, it does take the same general "banks bad, rating agencies bad, public largely innocent" tone that nearly every MSM discussion of the crisis takes. So that sucks, and it could have been a home run had Michael Lewis used his book to indict American homeowner/consumer recklessness as well.

I liked it a lot. But at the end of the movie, you'll be pissed off that nothing really happened to the assholes who nearly destroyed the world economy coming up with all this silly shite. Like there ain't enough money to be made just selling houses to people with halfway decent credit.

Possible. If you've seen the crisis from different perspectives, you also may be pissed that it falls into the trap of portraying the disaster largely as a mutually exclusive situation with bad guys (banks) and victims (homeowners, investors). Which of course doesn't tell the whole story.

It does sort of touch on this to some extent when it shows the dumb decisions that the strippers are making right?

And those douchebag Realtors who probably couldn't even spell "real estate" but were raking in the dough selling houses to people who couldn't afford them.
