Who is voting on this?

Someone needs to write a book about how the top ten mentality changed American culture.

A hundred years ago if you wanted to see a movie, you went to see it. You didn't care if it was #1 at the national box office.

But in the 1980s Entertainment Tonight started giving the top-B.O. movies for the week. Then Casey Kasey brought his radio show to TV.

Now far more attention is paid to box office results than things like film quality.

They pumped it up as some women's empowerment movie, which isn't a big deal.

The big deal is the fact that the tribe featured was the one committing the atrocities of slavery. They didn't want people to know that.

Being ranked over Top Gun 2, The Whale, and Avatar 2 is ridiculous

I've seen Top Gun Maverick, so I'm awarding it the trophy.

Were you a fan of Pearl Harbor, 300, Braveheart, A Beautiful Mind, Argo, The New World, Gladiator, The Last Samurai, Alexander, Black hawk Down, or The Patriot?

Oh, so directly participating in slavery isn’t a big deal now and shouldn’t be relevant to any story or individual.

Good to know.

I’m sure the individuals demanding reparations and claiming systemic racism will all cease their demands and admit it is fine to ignore.

I have no idea what that movie is about and don't plan on ever seeing it, I'm just saying a movie not being historically accurate does not necessarily rule it out as being a good movie.

Taking creative license with history is one thing, flat out revising history to paint a tribe of vicious cannibalistic slave traders as an oppressed mostly peaceful heroic group of female warriors is quite another.

Would a non-satirical movie that portrayed the Nazis as an oppressed, misunderstood minority and Adolf Hitler as a hero fighting for the freedom of his people go over well with you?

Fair enough. If that's what the movie was doing, then yea, that's different from the movies I listed.
