Yep. Loose lips sink ships (I'd venture a guess that the Rezidentura knew of Gaad's trip because Stan told Philip in the previous episode)

yep and in the case of Mathew and Kimmie they tell someone else who just happens to work for the KGB.

I thought the random Kimmie scene was lame

i noticed they mentioned her a week or 2 ago, Phillip gave Gabriel a tape and said it was from Kimmie. I was wondering how that went. That op seems way risky to me.

quote:

The vibe I get it that Arkady was behind the operation (he and Gaad knew each other as professionals [recall their "summit" earlier in the series] and I suspect he looked at him somewhat as a "friend"). I think his saying the operation probably should not been approved was him kicking himself.

yeah, I'm really curious what the proposal was, with this show it could have gone all kinds of ways, maybe they think Gaad feels betrayed and will give them something, maybe they want to trade Martha for something else, maybe Arkady wants to pass on some info, seems a lot of people on that side are pretty nervous about the bioweapons stuff.

They've always used her to parallel Paige

I get it but I think we all get that at this point so no need to bring her back up when we haven't seen her in forever.

It just seemed corny and pointless, not a big deal though.

I did not catch that, makes it less random.

You are hard pressed to find loose ends on this show.

Man the Jennings just can't catch a break.

So does Paige think her mom is a badass now and becomes thankful for that or does she realize her mom has killed before and start to turn against them.

So our little Elizabeth has grown a conscience. Who'd a thunk it?

I don't know about you guys, but if I were Pastor Tim, I would've turned those Russkies in immediately. Is he a criminal for keeping quiet?

That ending was the only thing worthwhile to come out of the past 2 episodes. Some of the scenes have been cringe worthy bad.

For how strong the season started these last two episodes following the Martha departure have been pretty meh.

Hopefully the last two episodes get us going!

I was thinking the later. See that is pretty shocking for 16 y/o suburban teenager, she may realize they are lying to her.

yeah, that's some bullshite though the poor bastard would not have done it. They, especially Elizabeth don't seem to be getting it on as much.

frick yeah i would. that poor bastard (and Paige) have no idea how close he came to getting capped, if not for an accident, i see a lot of people talk about it's weird rooting for the Russians. I'm rooting for the FBI like i did with the Sopranos, though i realize the Feds won't "win". But i suspect they could charge PT with treason or something.

2 other thoughts on last night.

The Stan-Oleg meeting was interesting. Obviously, conscience and guilt are major themes this season.

The other guy got away and saw Elizabeth, will that come up again somewhere down the line?

It would be stupid if it did.

Yep... I think it was/is sincere on Stan's part, but the previews for next week seem to indicate that it may pay off in some fashion in terms of intel from Oleg. The fact that the feds may well be about to crack mail robot definitely tightens the noose.

Possibly; however, that's a tough one for the other guy to report to the cops. "Yeah, we were going to rape these two women and the older one killed my partner."

Of course, if they were "regulars" at that food shelter, he may see Paige in there in the future. However, it seems like they were some distance from the place when the attack/murder happened.

This ABSOLUTELY will be a revelation to Paige that her parents can kill (and almost certainly have killed) as part of their activities as spies. I think that's where the "don't you trust" me line from the preview for next week comes in - her confronting them and expressly asking them if they have killed.

But for the renewal for 23 more episodes, I would have bet money this thing would only have one more season. But, as they have in the past, these 23 episodes could only be 23 consecutive days in the timeline.

of course he wouldn't go to the cops to report it, but he could get arrested for his parter's murder and then tell them then, give a description something like that.

Or Elizabeth/Phillip think they tie up a loose end.

yeah, i'm pretty stoked about that, though i hope they do it over the next 2 years and it doesn't get pushed back a few years like some other shows have

There are so many ways they could go. Up to Gorbachev or end before then? Or do they go to 89 and just before the fall of the Berlin Wall? And will Stan ever find out? Holy shite will he feel like a schmuck

Phillip putting Gaad going to Thailand in his op report was chilling.

Interesting twist if the center has recruited Henry behind everyone's noses. Everyone thinks Henry has no idea what's going on but he's at Stans every minute?

Yes, but it's not as big a possible thread as you might think. This is 7+ months after the call upstairs, and was/is likely a trip that was planned for a while. It's impossible that Gaad or his wife would not have told family/friends about the trip, providing many more ways the KGB could have found out about it (remember, Gaad was known to the KGB generally [hence, Martha] and had a "collegial" relationship with Arkady). It's not a direct link to Philip, but could be a thread as the series goes on.

Or...that he goes Jared and kills everyone at the end of the series when he finds out the secret.
