In reality the only thing Oscar wants is his alley permit. But he knows all the shadyness that is going on. He acts very unaware but is very aware. He knew as soon as he seen Noah out in the middle of nowhere what he was doing. He also intentionally mentioned it to Noahs wife. He is goign to blackmail Noah next. He wants to frick him over because he is in love with his mistress.

So Scotty died simply because Oscar wants a bowling alley? Meh. There is a family feud here - Oscar may not be the kingpin, but he could be a key cog.

I do think there could be a scenario where Noah and Alison are being interviewed at separate times entirely.

Alison looks much older in her interviews, whereas Noah looks like the same age.

I did. Not sure what to make of it. He should've paid off Oscar and kept his mouth shut.

I believe it would have come out eventually anyway. Oscar has too many problems with Allisons family.

He should have just killed Oscar

He almost got his wife feeling sorry for him when they had that talk in the bedroom.

I thought that scene with ali and cole on the sidewalk drug out for too damn long

He couldn't keep it to himself. That's why he had the panic attack, the guilt was killing him.

Also, going back and thinking about the conversation noah and his wife had after he confessed... She was like who was it? the waitress? I knew it...

Now lets go in Ali's POV.. They go into the wifes store. The wife comes up to Ali and thanked her which told me that Noah still has not confessed quite yet.

What wouldn't the wife bring this up when Noah finally confessed to who it was? You would think she would be like is that why she is in town? etc etc etc

I just got caught up to episode 7 the other night, this show is starting to finally get some solid traction. Is this the halfway point for season 1?

Bump for last night's episode.

Other than the grandma dying thing being overblown it was a good episode.

Going forward, Noah's daughter is pregnant with Scotty's kid we have to assume:

a) She's puking with morning sickness and her dumbass Mom thinks it's bulimia
b) Scotty has been "going to the city a lot lately"
c) Scotty and the daughter clearly had some shite going down throughout the season.
d) We know Scotty is going to die soon

Does Noah kill Scotty when he finds out? Does Alison adopt the daughter's bastard child since she can't seem to get pregnant again?

My major issue with the show is how different the accounts of the two main characters are. They differ so much that it is unreasonable to think that the two people could see an event so drastically different.

Nice call.

Just binge watched this over Thanksgiving so I haven't really had the time to digest everything.

Really enjoy the show. Don't mind the pacing.

Yeah but it's by design to promote the literary motif (Noah being an author, etc) and the POV angle. I found it redundant early in the year but I think it works really well overall.

It could be that the either Alison or Noah is trying to convince themselves how it all went down. The beginning the of season Alison asked the detective if he "had a secret he didn't even want to tell himself" or something like that. It could be that Alison is creating a false reality to cope with the anguish of losing her kid.

I'm still not convinced the two accounts and interrogations by the detective are happening in the same time frame, either.

I wouldn't be shocked if a big character other than Scotty ends up dead by the end of the show.

what is the reason Noah lied about being at "the end" to detective. He definitely ratted himself out giving that speech
