The 100 on CW is an amazing show if you like stuff about post apocalyptic Earth

SPOILERS on ahead so be forewarned.....
Seasons 1-3 are on Netflix.
It's really well done and well written and there were plot twists everywhere. This show is really a good survivalist series and about how humanity has the capability to revert back to medieval mentality if you completely destroy industrialized society.
The first season was good even though it was a very limited in scope conflict with the grounders but the second season was great TV to watch and really broke the innocence of a lot of kids with the ordeal they went through with the mountain men at mount weather.
The 3rd season started off kinda weak as the city of light storyline with Alie took a while to build up but man it really finished with a very satisfying finale. I also loved how Octavia killed Pike after him thinking that just because he fought with her at the end doesn't negate the fact that he killed the man she loved.
Clarke is a complete badass as we see her make decisions that would drive adults older than her today absolutely batshit crazy like letting a missile strike happen or killing off all of mount weather to save her friends. Bellamy is a chickenshit and way too fricking unstable as his actions of backing Pike got Arkadia into a war against the other clans they had no hope of winning.
With that said, this show really makes you think about nuclear weapons and about how we literally have the power of god himself to destroy nearly if not all of humanity and industrialized society as we know and send us back to the stone ages if enough people survive. Nuclear weapons may be a good deterrent and has arguably made the world a safer place but that doesn't change the fact that all it takes to end the world is a few rogue actors taking over a country's nuclear arsenal, a rogue and out control government losing their minds or some faulty and glitch ridden computer program like Alie launching them itself. When you think about just how little it takes to launch and detonate a nuke, you want to shite yourself.
With that said, I just don't get how if the fist Commander, Bekka Pramheda, knew ALIE was faulty AI and something was wrong with her, why didn't she take steps to delete her and flip on her kill switch instead of just locking her up in that house and going to space to build another AI? It was too easy for her boyfriend to let her out of that house and in turn she killed modern humanity.

It's ok for what it is.
Basically the adults make bad decisions and the teens make all the difficult but right decisions. It's a teen show for teens.
Clarke doesn't know if she is gay, straight or bi. Her character was good the 1st season but has gone off the rails in the last 2 and she does whatever the writers need her to do. She'll let everyone die 1 minute then do whatever it takes to save 1 person the next.

Clarke is the worst character on the show and I have no idea why anybody listens to her or gives her any sense of authority. She should have died instead of Lexa.

I think I know the exact moment you're talking about. I almost gave up when they tried to advance the plot by doing the dumbest, most unnecessary thing possible. But once you get past that it picked up. I liked the more scifi/high tech angle of season 3.

I've watched all the seasons that are out.
I went back and forth between binge watching and not caring if I ever saw another episode.
I had to make a conscience effort to try and choose a character I liked for not being a total dumbass, tool, or completely naive. Oddly enough that came out to be John Murphy for me.
FWIW they should've made it longer than 100 years since the nukes went off.
There is no reason the survivors on the ground would've created their own languages. They all would've spoken English and that would've been passed down. Different words and idiomatic expressions? Sure. But 100 years is only a couple of generations. I don't see why whole languages would've been developed in addition to English being kept.

The GF loves this show and begs me to watch it. I got about 6 episodes in and it's just too much. Couldn't get into it.
It's cool at times with some of the insane amounts of violence they're able to get away with
But other than that it's just not very good to me. I understand why some like it though

Season 1 was awesome. Gets kind of average after that.
