I was just asking bc I'm watching the game and the super 8 preview came on and then the thread was started

I'm not getting to excited about this. The film will follow kids trying to film the monster or whatever it is. I wasn't a big cloverfield fan but maybe this will surprise me. Movies with child actors can either work good for you (pans labyrinth, slumdog) or be a disaster (gran torino).

When I saw Thor I saw a Super 8 trailer. Looks like these kids are making a movie and catch the monster on film. The government keeps it hush hush but the kids know what it is.

I don't believe it follows the kids like that pov camera did in cloverfield.

the kids are shooting their film and just so happen to capture the train wreck on film, then I believe it goes on to all different character pov's

The monstor was never shown to be killed, but it was assumed.

Read somewhere, that speculation has it that it might be a new super hero or something?

I am pumped for this. I like the angle they are taking with the kids accidentally catching it on film. And JJ has proved he can make some pretty awesome shite.

Looks like JJ has chanelled his inner 70's/80's Spielberg for this one. How can anyone not be looking forward to this?

Exactly.

ET meets Cloverfield maybe? But without the POV...

Spielberg produced it, too. So, I'm ready for some serious family adventure film nostalgia.

I just don't want it to be a big monster alien. There are wayy to many explosions in the preview for my taste too.
