I’ll say it. I don’t think we need the full love triangle in LA Confidential. Some of it is necessary for the story but Guy Pearce sleeping with Kim just doesn’t sell very well in my opinion and feels contrived.

In the movie Fargo… the call from Mike (Japanese guy) and Marge meeting him for dinner, then him being a total creep after her friend reveals he was lying about his ex-wife.

I watched this one again two weeks ago, so it was recently on my mind. What was the point? To show she had started to let her guard down and was susceptible to being lied to? To prove that seemingly innocent men can be creeps and that she should go back to investigate at the dealership again?

i understand that it drove more of a wedge between Pearce and Crowe's character, but they already didn't like each other. it just made Pearce's character look more like an entitled prick and then sullies Bassinger's character ending up with Crowe.

upvote.

In the earlier Midway - the part where Charlton Heston's son is in love with the Japanese girl is totally unnecessary

Ocean’s 12 is not a great film, but I do really enjoy it. However, the Julia Roberts impersonation scene is so bad. I have no idea what Soderbergh was doing there.

The storyline in the Dark Knight with 2 heroes lusting after Maggie fricking Gyllenhaal made no sense.

i know the internet at large has beaten this horse to death, revived it, and beaten it to death again for years now but...

the Luke / Leia brother & sister storyline. just get it entirely the frick out of the entire Star Wars universe.

i could also do without the Ginger storyline in Casino, but then again, peak Sharon Stone in ANY role is pretty great.

It's a true story, and we need it for creepy James Wood character. Also, it was part of the reason they came down so hard on Nicky.

The Hobbit was coming here to post that

Love story between an elf and dwarf

In the SW sequels that touch on Finn being forced sensitive but than forgot about it. Yes not great flicks

IJ Temple of Doom. Could have removed Winnie and her love for Indy and the movie would have been fine.

I know you can't really cut them, but on rewatches, I usually skip the Kay scenes in The Godfather.
