I've avoided everything after episode three as I was a few weeks behind and heard it was potentially passing the books. I've read all 5 books an don't want my reading experience spoiled by the show. I'm assuming from some thread titles it's a good move? Any info that doesn't spoil it is appreciated... Thanks.

If you're the type who can enjoy both as separate mediums, you should watch. If you're the type who hates any change from source material, it's probably better for all of us if you don't watch.

I've never watched one episode of the show. I have also never read any of the books.

I just finished book 2 and I've seen all 5 seasons of the show. I wish I would have quit like you. The show is good but it's nowhere close to the books imo. And now I won't get to experience reading while knowing nothing until book 6 is released.

For us all? I think I've posted once or twice the last 3 seasons regarding the show. I was just trying to get a pulse on how big the changes/show jumping ahead was without reading spoilers, that's all. I've definitely enjoyed both greatly. I would however like to read the story first.

That was more of a shot at those who complain about/exaggerate every single change.
I wouldn't necessarily refrain from watching. Especially because it could be a long time before the books are done.

It's just a TV show. Just watch it and enjoy it. You don't have to be scared. It's not real life.

From what I understand there was a huge addition to the show that wasn't in the books (episode 8). And many of the book readers were pleasantly surprised by this, with a lot of people considering it to be the best episode of the series.

There's no telling if the little that happened ahead of the books in the show is actually going to happen in the books. I kind of think that it won't.
