I read the novella 20 or so years ago and remember it as being an excellent story. I was looking forward to watching the series thinking it could possibly be decent. Well in the first 10 minutes there have already been about 5 different SJW bullshite cliches. It was almost comical and pathetic at the same time. Needless to say I do not intend on watching anymore of it.

Thirty minutes in and it's pretty much garbage as far as I can tell. The acting is absolutely horrible.

I remember laughing my arse off at the ending of the movie. I don't think I was ever so happy to save my money on passing on it in theaters.

Watched the pilot last night after the baseball debacle. I was quickly puzzled by the need to include the gay boy with eye makeup talking about falling in love with something. The need to gay up characters is so damn stupid. Quit watching right there.

I loved the ending of the movie. To many horror movies end happily ever after nowadays

You'd be the type of old person to cancel a newspaper subscription because you disagreed with something someone wrote.

I wish more shows did "the gay character" like Southland did. Dude was just gay and a normal guy (minus the pill addiction) in his daily life. No over the top, no lisp, and no SJW BS.

I watched the first 3 episodes, if you can push through the 1st one, it gets a little better.

It was the first King Novella I read...probably sometime around '89 (the Skeleton Crew version, rather than the original). I was hooked. It was an excellent story. King's forte is character development...too many times, the film/tv adaptations completely miss that and stray off into mediocrity.

I'm still waiting for someone to have the vision to do an adaptation of The Long Walk. My favorite Dystopian story. Then again, they would probably screw it up too.

ETA...I would love to see adaptations of Mrs. Todd's Shortcut or The Raft, too.

I remember thinking the dude in that must have unbelievably hard up if he was messing with that chick while the monster was killing folk and they were trapped.
