This is one of those books I didn't think I would ever see be made into a movie.

Mike Flanagan has had a big year, with three of his movies—Before I Wake, Ouija: Origin of Evil, and Netflix’s Hush—all premiering in 2016. Next, he’s taking on Stephen King’s horrific Gerald’s Game, about a woman named Jessie whose husband is into sexual domination play, and who leaves her handcuffed to a bed only to have a heart attack and die minutes later. Jessie is left chained to the bed for days while she might be going mad, because there appears to be another presence in the room with her.

Damn. That sounds intense.

It's Stephen King.
He could take a dump on a piece of paper, mark it "guaranteed" and some studio would make it into a movie.
That's why they always put his name in the title. They have a guaranteed audience.

Looking forward to this. This was one of my favorite King books.
I hope Netflix also looks into remaking a miniseries or something for "The Stand"

I read that book on a family vacation when I was like 12 years old. It was awesome

Thats the absolute best way to read a Stephen King novel. To a t. And if anyone disagree they can fight me IRL.

I never read the book but got to read Flanagan's script 2 years ago. From what I remember, I found it pretty boring as it all takes place in that one bedroom the whole time and her chained to the bed for most of it. I guess this is accurate to the book, but for an hour and a half movie, I found it difficult to stay invested.

Transformers for you then

I'll be honest, this was overwhelmingly my least favorite King novel.
I understood the fear that was trying to be conveyed, it was just very boring. Then King tacks on an ending that will give it some level of "supernatural feel".

I had to look it up after your downvote. (I know it was you Fredo)
There's like two things King has written that haven't been adapted to something on the screen.
He really can publish anything and it's immediately adapted. It's crazy.
He became a money-making machine that Sparks is trying to copy.
While I know he can mail it in...and probably has half the time, compared to his novels The Shining and Carrie and The Stand...and IT.
I'd still rather see King movies than Meyer, Dan Brown or Collins.
So I have no problem with any King adaption.
But to be surprised...doesn't make sense, almost everything he writes is adapted.
King is the most adapted writer of all-time by far.

The Eyes of the Dragon would be a good King adaptation.

I agree. It's often overlooked because it was written as a fairy tale for his children. However, it ties in closely with The Dark Tower novels and is a really well written tale. I think it would be easy to faithfully adapt it too.

It also has one of my favorite escapes in any book I've ever read. I don't want to spoil it for those who haven't read it but those that have know what I'm talking about.
