Blasters>>>>lasers, and I'm more leaning to the Star Trek side than the Star Wars side.

There's nothing in the movies that say that.

In fact, Capital ships make heavy use of Turbolasers.

The movies don't generally talk much about how the technology works, because it's fantasy not sci-fi. (Star Trek tries to be more sci-fi and so at least tries to give explanations. Where Star Wars tries in the movies it usually makes it worse) But there are plenty of official supplementary materials that do.

True, you would never really think it but Han solo is on par with the brightest mind we have on earth at the moment in terms of astronauts. I mean to operate a ship like that requires a lot of technical know how on physics and what not.

Heck, if you think about it, he can randomly tear parts of his ships off and still make it work. So the level of education of the Star Wars universe is on higher than that of Star Trek due to knowing how to use hyperspace travel.

My father warned me that someday, somewhere, somehow, I would hear the words "Who would win between...?" He said that on that day, I must run away screaming or risk either going insane or being butchered by angry fanboys. So I will do precisely that, but before I go, I just want to note that 1) size doesn't really matter quite so much at the level of technology where something the circumference of a bowling ball can be packed with explosive potential to annihilate a city, and 2) the Death Star is, in the end, one of worst and most inefficient designs imaginable for outer space combat. It's like putting a single non-swiveling cannon on an aircraft carrier and trying to blow up a speed boat running circles around you. That, at least, should be kept in mind.

transporters

Surprisingly, this would be the scale tipper.

The Federation could (and would) "transport" any number of persons (say, Emperor, Sith, ship command structures) and "hold" them (like Scotty did in that TNG episode). Completely removing them from the battlefield.

Even though I favor Star Trek to win (I can see both sides), I can say there is no way Picard survives this encounter. About 10 seconds after he says "hailing frequency" he would get choked by Vader over the hailing screen.

Depends on if this dude decides to intervene.

If these groups meet I assume it is because Q arranged it as a test. I doubt he'd intervene much in the outcome though.

yea because the story was written for the crew of the Enterprise. So if they would have lost the story would end and they wouldnt get to write more stories of the crew.

On the other hand the Star Wars story was written as the Empire being the bad guy. and in movies the bad guys loses.

The correct answer is the Borg, resistance is futile!
