Again, I like jedi...but obi wan's "from a certain point of view" shite is what liars say to deny the fact they're lying 
So they made him more of an a-hole than if he just copped to lying because Luke wasn't ready or wouldn't face vader when he's all that is left
That's the kind of stuff (along with reusing ideas and ewoks) that looking back you can say are prequelish
But I like jedi, just not on the level of the first 2

Because in the originals you know Darth as more of a callous machine like bad guy.
Even though you have hints that he was someone else you can't be sure...seeing him unmasked for me was a huge payoff...confirming the question of whether or not he really is Luke's father is also a huge payoff
Seeing this without the benefits of the prequel back story really does result in a payoff for the aidience.

I admit, as a kid I was so excited. I don't know if it is bad or good, I just think sometimes things are better left to the imagination
