Yep, lots of just regular non clone recruits in the storm trooper ranks. And there have been several cloning batches not based off Jango Fetts, they used a bunch of different clone types since the clone wars.

People need to realize that when Lucas made Star Wars he had no intention of the troopers being clones. He didn't even have intentions of making a sequel. No intentions of Vader being Luke's father, Leia being his sister, or pretty much anything that happened later. He made things up as he went along. He was a story teller. Good story tellers are usually habitual liars. He tried to piece things together but it's nearly impossible and it's obvious to those of us who've been fans our whole lives.

Somebody gets it.

This is the star destroyer you are talking about right? I know a super star destroyer is blue and like 10x the size of a regular star destroyer.

excellent post

interviews with the people who lucas shite canned because they challenged him creatively, have dispelled many of the myths that lucasfilm put out there over the years about George's vision

he didn't write the OT as one movie and split it up, he didn't plan on vader being luke's father (but lucky for him the line delivery by uncle owen in the original makes it look that way and adds great continuity), leia wasn't going to be luke's sister, jabba wasn't going to be a stop motion or cgi slug, it's all bullshite

what I can gather is that a few things cut out of the star wars script...not major ideas, little ones, made their way into empire, and they were conceptualizing jedi as they were finishing empire.

and it's better to be lucky than great sometimes. props to lucas, vader being luke's father was a great change to the script and provided the greatest spoiler in cinematic history...even ned stark agrees

I agree with most of your post. However, I do think this is one Lucas had decided on from the get go. In the beginning of the film the aunt mentions that Luke has too much of his father in him. The uncle then replies "that's what I'm afraid of."

For the 3 years between the time I first saw Star Wars up until I saw Empire Strikes Back, it always seemed apparent that Uncle Owen wanted Luke to stay safe on the farm, away from political strife and conflict. He found reasons to keep Luke from going to the Academy, and he never spoke of Kenobi (and once his name was mentioned he warned Luke to stay away from him).

Luke's father was a Jedi and a warrior, and Kenobi mentioned that Owen was afraid that Luke would follow Kenobi like his father did.

Nothing there suggests Vader as any kin, simply that Annikin was adventurous, and Owen was afraid Luke would be too.

Also interesting to note- when Kenobi told Luke his father was a Jedi and gave him the saber, Luke's reaction was just that he was getting a different story than he knew. He didn't raise an argument that "Jedi don't have families", which was put forth in the prequels. Since the prequels took place only 20 years beforehand and the Jedi were commonly known (certainly Luke's friends would have known about them), that indicates another later development.

I think you are right. CHeck the trailer at 1:27. There are the huge engines that were red, and you can see the smaller bue engines on the top left.

Disney will really invigorate fan interest with their new series "Star Wars: The Trade Federation" and "Star Wars: the Galactic Senate"

Watching that new Star Wars Rebels and it has been awesome. Good plot lines and the like. Plus they have James Earl Jones voicing Darth Vader. So Disney did well with that one.

Yep. At the latest Star Wars Celebration, showing off the new stormtroppers unis, they were all different heights:

Not that I want to interject but Kris's comment suggests a height requirement rather than the whole clones thing

Does Owen even know Anakin is Vader? Especially in this new canon, how do we know Obi Wan just didn't tell Owen Anakin died in the Clone Wars?

Does this mean no Tattooine?

Kinda weird they'd create a new planet that looks identical to Tattooine.
