JJ said he finished it about 2 weeks ago.
On top of that, Friday of last week(I think) he allowed a young man named Daniel Fleetwood, who was terminally ill, and a MASSIVE Star Wars fan, screen the film with his SO. As well as a few others who are members of a fan club called the 501st Legion's Star Garrison. Who presented him with several gifts, and a honorary membership.
Sadly, he died on Tuesday. Must have been holding out to see it, and once he fulfilled that goal he relaxed and stopped fighting.
A) In light of JJ saying it was, and him showing the film already, there is no doub it is done.
B) JJ is a good dude. This is the second time he has dome this for a fan who was going to die before one of his films opened. He also did it with Star Trek: Into Darkness.
C) I can't imagine the pressure to deliver an excellent product to someone whose final wish is to see your creation. Disappointing someone in that position would hit me hard.
