Can't recall a worse casting decision + acting job than Jessie Eisenberg doing a poser-Heath Ledger Joker imitation.

Seriously, ruined that movie for me, which otherwise wasn't that bad outside of every scene with him in it doing that little Katt Williams giggle

Ed: brevity

Ummm, no. Lex Luthor in his comic form is probably one of the 10 greatest villains ever. They completely missed the mark. The only thing they got right was that he's rich and doesn't like Superman. They didn't even get Luthor's God Complex right. It's the worst ever. I fortunately had time to prepare for it being that terrible, or else I would have tried to destroy the projector in the theater.

Talking specifically Eisenberg in OP. I agree Luthor is badass villain. Maybe you only read the title. I'll update it

The factual answer to this is No. It's not debatable

Jesse Eisenberg made the people you posted look like classically trained Oscar winners.

Think about how bad they were. Then think about how bad Eisenberg had to be to make my statement true

All better than Eisenberg's. You can't tell me that Arnold's Mr. Freeze isn't somewhat entertaining in a campy way.

Plus Nuclear Man never existed before Superman 4.

I'll just have to agree to disagree with you guys. I agree that he was a terrible choice for Lex, but I thought his acting was OK. I think it comes down to whether you like the guy's work or not.

But yea, he was the farthest thing from Lex Luthor that you can possibly get.

Definitely.

Sure is.

Thurman's Ivy killed Lady Freeze and was campy funny.

No one gives a shite about Enchantress and the whole movie was a mess, so you can't compare that to Lex Luthor

The Other two literally no one cares about, they aren't on the same level.

I don't know if anyone will ever be able to top the way they fricked up one of the top two most iconic DC villains of all time.

It would be like if they made a movie based on Ghandi and he was played by a pasty white fat ginger with a full head of hair who was furious, screaming all the time, advocating violence, and basically retarded. Also an atheist.

The script for Batman and Robin was a million times worse than BvS so you can't put all the blame on Arnold.

We can agree to disagree of you want but I very very very much want to continue to disagree with you until you agree with me that he sucked

You can blame Terrio for Lex. He was the one who pushed for JE. I think he was up for Jimmy Olsen originally who was going to have a bigger role. It was a terrible decision.

Yeah I like this description:

Snyder and Eisenberg's Luthor is the equivalent of making a movie based on Ghandi and casting a young, pasty white, fat, ginger with a full head of hair, clean shaven, and 20/20 vision. Think Hamilton Porter from Sandlot.

On top of that, the character in the movie is furious, screaming all the time, advocating violence, and basically retarded. Also an atheist.

But they make him live in India, call him Ghandi, and make sure to state that he hated the British Empire I'm a clunky way that made no sense.

I think he was just being JE. He should have never been cast in that role. It was a failure before it even began.

Have no problem with his body of work. Like his other roles mostly. This role sucked the balance of the movie out for me. Everyone else played within the tough role of mixing all those major characters together, and just came off like he was trying to steal the show.

Respect yalls opinions, but some of the counter examples given are going pretty far back, which is solidifying my point of how bad he was. A decent Lex casting job would of absolutely changed the perception of that movie.

UHF is always my vote for most underrated comedy of all time.

Life is like a mop.

THESE FLOORS ARE DIRTY AS HELL, AND I'M NOT GONNA TAKE IT ANYMORE!

I felt like his acting job was the same in BvS as it is in all of his other movies.

Topher wasn't a bad choice. They just should have had him play Cleetus Cassidy instead of Eddie Brock because that character had far more to do with Carnage than Venom.

Plus Dam Rami feels really bad abou that movie.

That was exactly the problem. No range. Luthor is a stoic , intimidating villain.
Never thought of Lex as a socially awkward villain.

From what I understand, JE was supposed to be only cast as a cameo cameraman that gets killed early....then Snyder pitched the idea of him reading for Luthor. Just an awful decision that reeked of Hollywood "nepotism"
