I have read a few, and I feel like critics don't know what they want out a Bond film, or this movie.

Given the Sony leak last year in regards to this film, I didn't have high hopes.

Christoph Waltz as a villian? Yes please.

1. With Craig, there have been 2 universally acclaimed films (and a third impacted by the writers). Save for Sean Connery, he is widely considered the best Bond.

2. It brings back an Academy award winning director (whose films before and after his marriage).

3. It adds a two-time Academy Award winning actor to play the villan; this actor has already played one of the greatest villans ever.

4. The rest of cast is stellar.

5. The reviews have been great this far.

AND you don't have high hopes????

Skyfall was such a tedious exercise in mediocrity. Don't use that in your manufacturing of hope

I'm tired of Waltz playing the same villain

I'll see it, but my expectations are quite tempered

Kinda agree with most of this although I'll watch Waltz in anything.

Skyfall's pacing was painful.

same. he's great, but he's always the well-spoken, deliberately enunciative, charismatic gentleman and i just got kinda tired of it. the trailers would lead me to believe that it's the exact same thing for spectre

yes, the pacing was painful and the 3rd act was pure torture.

he plays the same character in almost every movie, he just plays him incredibly well.

Spectre looks awesome to me. But who knows. Skyfall was just ok imho and others loved it.

Looks awesome. Although, I loved Skyfall...

Craig is the best Bond though

The nostalgia factor of Bond films makes them all fairly enjoyable for me. This one, however, looks to be much better than Skyfall. Sad that the RT% isn't super high, but will still see it.

THE best part of Skyfall was the freaking theme song. One of the few chick songs I never got tired of. Adele nailed it.

I agree with all of that, actually.

I'm hopeful that Spectre will be better than Skyfall.
