Just on-demanded Spectre. Nice photography, scenic locations, plenty of explosions and violence; trotted out most 007 cliches like an anthology. Lacked cohesive story line, music not up to standards, minimal use of the brassy Bond refrains. So much hype, so much let-down. Meh.

That's how I feel after every Bond movie. Maybe Bond just isn't my thing.

It was bad and nobody can convince me that he wouldn't have murdered Blofeld without a second thought. Blofeld killed every woman he ever loved and killed his surrogate father. He wouldn't have hesitated for a second to end Blofeld. He wouldn't have worried about any consequences. He would have emptied his gun into him and he would have enjoyed every last second of it.

The movie was shite..

As bad as the exploding hotel in the middle of nowhere was in QOS, the single shot exploding evil lair was even worse. Might have been the biggest waste and worst use of pyrotechnics in movie history and that isn't hyperbole.

I totally loved Skyfall, which puts me in the minority on this board for reasons I don't understand.

But it baffles me that the same people made Spectre.
Spectre was boring and listless, like no one involved gave a frick.
I feel like it took 90 minutes for the movie to actually begin.

I'm in a similar boat as you. I'm not a traditional bond fan, so that may be part of it.

I wonder if Craig's attitude toward the franchise had any effect on the production of the movie.

No. I think he recognized it was sub-par. Casino Royale and Skyfall were so much better.
This came off to me like it was a farewell tour movie, not just for Craig but for Bond. Too dependent on special effects, like Thunderball after Goldfinger was in the Sean Connery days.

They have destroyed bond once craig took the role. He always felt out of place in that role and they made the role fit him instead of finding an actor that fit the role.

What diat150 said.

I just had a hard time believing Blofeld's whole reason for existence and his desire for conquering the world was that he was a little bitch about a foster kid. Really? The negative of Austin Powers is where Bond has decided to go?

It was a hollow uninspired effort and as others have said the Blofeld storyline was laughable.

Where were you guys the night I watched it.

I got eviscerated on here for saying Spectre was almost as bad as QOS.

I am a big time Bond fan, but QoS was fricking awful and I've avoided Spectre so far. Yeah Skyfall had a ton of plot holes, but it felt like a bond movie. Casino Royale was a fun intro movie to a new Bond, but QoS was a Jason Bourne movie for all intents and purposes.

Spectre & Skyfall were okay and Quantum of Solace was turrible.

With that being said, Casino Royale is great & never gets old.

Didn't see it in theaters when I saw it had a 2 hour 30 minute run-time. Was that really necessary or was there a lot of fat to be cut?

They cut out a lot already to begin with. Not to mention its already well known that the production was rushed.

I posted this exact same thread when I saw it back in November.

It is easily the worst Daniel Craig bond movie, including QOS and QOS has its screwiness.

There's always a tough struggle to make Bond interesting and badass without becoming Bourne-like.

SPOILER SPOILERS SPOILERSMy Initial Review

Spectre - The ReQuantuming Or do you prefer Quantum II Electric Boogaloo?

Holy crap!Yes! I sho is angry. From the opening silly helicopter fight to the ridiculous exploding evil lair, this movie might have been worse than Quantum.Sure, we all hated QOS but it really had almost no chance since it followed Casino.

They tried to dial back the action but then it felt like they had to make things explode because of some bond explosion quota. The effects weren't great in any of the sequences. The hotel falling at the beginning was a green screen disaster.

Can you explain to me why he kept punching the helicopter pilot in the head? The pilot wasn't even messing with him at all for the first half of that scene.

I get that this is a James Bond film, but will they ever have a plot that is even remotely rationale?Does anyone believe that 9 governments would essentially shut down their spy agencies and pool all of their assets? Hell, the US wouldn't even make any agreement like this with Great Britain, let alone adding 7 other countries.

Can someone explain WHO WAS GOING TO COLLECT the data if they shut down the programs with actual human Intel?

QOS had the death motel from hell located in the absolute middle of nowhere and powered by a gas system that would cause the entire thing to blow up if someone sneezed.

Seems Blofeld loved that hotel so much, he used the exact same system on his lair. One freaking bullet and the whole thing blows up. That is just lazy.Don't give me any crap about his watch bomb. That tiny explosion didn't do crap. It was bond shooting the tank that caused the entire complex to explode.Sure hope the next super villain learns to bury those things or maybe use some good old solar cells to power their evil lair.

That movie pissed me off. I haven't been this pissed since Spiderman II.

Don't get me started on the dialog. Sure Bond has always been full of one liners, but some of the romantic dialog would make Lucas shake his head and laugh.

They need to burn it down and start over. Go ahead and bring in Idris if he has the time since he currently appears to be involved in 72 projects. No wonder Craig was talking crap about Bond before the movie comes out. He is tired of reading shitty scripts.

Finally watched it over the weekend and that was one piece of crap. I have been a Craig fan since Casino and thought Skyfall redeemed the series some after QoS, but that was a bag of flaming poop.

I was very lost with the plot and by the time we got to the lair in the desert, I was thinking Moonraker was pretty believable compared to this.

I am glad this quadrilogy is over, they need to return to stand alone movies with the new Bond.
