If done correctly, it could be fun. Hopefully they use the 21 Jump Street writers heavily though.

I suspect that Will Smith or most of the usual MiB people won't be in this. I see it being more Jump Street heavy. That is just my theory.
However, reading this is funny considering that Sony just came out and said that they were making a commitment to having more originality.

The MiB franchise is missing the funny duo that the original had. 21 jump street team are good together, but another high school comedy is a little played out. So mixing the two could work, MiB isn't supposed to be serious like 007/Mission impossible, so it's in the same universe.
Think Tatum and Hill as less 21 jump street and more Harold and Kumar or Abbot and Costello take on the Mummy

Sony actually has a fair amount of original films coming out over the next 4 years. You know what finances those? Franchises. It's a necessary evil.

Yeah, if they are just continuing the franchise with Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum then it sounds okay.

I like the Jump Street movies, I like 2/3 MIB movies. I think it'll be Tommy Lee Jones signing the Jump Street guys up for MIB or something then it will follow them. But i love the Tatum/Hill chemistry so I'm excited

I'm assuming they will bust a drug dealer who will turn out to be an alien. Channing Tatum won't really understand what's going on and Jonah Hill will do his patented OMG OMG yell.
Also, I assume the Cricket gun will be used.
