Is the food good? Cheap? Trashy clientele? is the 3D good?

Baton Rouge has one opening soon. Not sure when.

Movie Tavern on West 7th in Fort Worth was mine and my wife's go-to spot when we lived there. The food is good enough (think Chili's or Applebee's type stuff), you can drink, and the seating is second to none. You basically get your own recliner.

I miss that place so much.

The one in Covington is great. Reserved seating, food decent, and the seats are very comfortable. I haven't been to the other theater in Covington since it opened. Might be worth a trip from BR to check it out.

Went to one in Williamsburg, VA. The food is ok but pricey. You are definitely paying for the convenience.
Clientele was not very trashy but I am sure this varies by locale. I cannot speak to the 3D quality.

For me it is not worth going to one of these on a regular basis. I'd rather just do the movie and then go to a nice restaurant where I can get better food for not much more than a Movie Tavern meal.

The reserved seating is the best thing about it. You buy your ticket and pick your seat in advance and don't have to worry about getting there super early to avoid the front row.

I went watch Jurassic World in Covington at it.
Thought it was effing awesome and i will never watch another movie, except Star Wars, in a normal movie theater again. And i drove from Baton Rouge for it.

Reserved seating, basically a recliner where the back goes high enough for your head to rest on, great spacing, not that expensive.

Wife and I purchased two tickets, spinach and artichoke dip, each had a sandwich and chips(Cubano sandwich, and it was good), and each had 2 beers. $80 including tip.

Went to the one in Covington last night.

$4.50 draft bud lights. There is a little button on your chair you press, and the waitress quietly sneaks up and serves you throughout the entire movie.

I got the platter as my meal, 4 sliders, 8 wings, and cheese fries for $15.50. Not bad, I'd compare it to chilis. Most of the sammiches and other items are about $10.

What impressed me most was the service. I had better service at a damn movie theater than I normally do at restaurants.

Good for a date, bad for a critical film watching.

That's what I'm thinking. For people that like going to the movies but don't really watch the movies.

I will echo what others have said.

The seating is great. Even if you're very tall you will have lots of leg room.

Get there early and the food will be out quickly. The food is similar to a chain restaurant and service is great considering how many people are in the theater.

Last night in Covington I received a pair of comped tickets due to an issue with the film that I didn't even notice. The server is the one who pointed it out and put the tickets in with the bill.

My one complaint is the seating on the side of the front section. The viewing angle is horrible. That's what I get for waiting to pre-order until the day of.

I found the food to be very small portions at a premium price. Last time I went, I smuggled in extra snacks because I knew their entree would not fill me.

I miss the dine in movie theaters. Movie Tavern was pretty good. The food is about Chili's/Friday's quality. I preferred Studio Movie Grill. It was higher end, but I think that there are less of them.

I couldn't even find the opening date, only that they were starting to hire right about now.

Looking forward to trying it out. Thanks for the replies everyone.

Does anyone know what the difference is between a regular showing and an MTX showing (besides $1)?
