I never thought i would see them like this but in light of GoT being on hold for another millenia, I watch Marco Polo as my Essos and the Last Kingdom as my Westeros.

yea yea CSB but opinions on these shows??? Most posted on here are all around the place and need a set place for them.

I haven't watched Last Kingdom yet myself but my buddy said it was pretty good. I did watch Marco Polo and I did enjoy it. Now, it's nowhere near the level GOT but worth a watch I'd say.

Last kingdom was good, kind of dry at times

Marco season 1 was great, reduced budget in second season really hurt the quality of the show

Just finished the 1st season of the Last Kingdom. Wife and I both liked it. It is kind of a sequel to Vikings but told from the Saxons side.

Marco was a pretty good show. Nice insight into an area of history that doesn't get a ton of screen time.

Last Kingdom is great IMO. No real weak links in the cast and there is a ton of source material for the show to follow. I am biased though as I have been reading Cornwell's books for years.

Loved The Last Kingdom, and the first season of Marco Polo. Don't really have any specific complaints, but I just never really got into the second season.

I've always suspected Vikings creators were inspired by the Saxon Stories. Cornwell started writing them in 04 I think and some of the characters in Vikings are main antagonists in different books of the series. Main characters deal with similar issues but from opposite spectrums.

I'm almost done with Last Kingdom, have Marco Polo on the watch list. Last Kingdom is great, they seem to have really tried to follow the books, even if a very condensed version. Uhtred is spot on in my opinion. They even have stayed true to the fighting tactics of the time and are using shield walls.

Really liked Last Kingdom. Alfred the Great is a fascinating character, even out of the English monarchs who a pretty wild and woolly lot as a whole

Really wanted to like Marco Polo but it failed to hold my interest after trying the first handful of episodes.
