I forgot about Psych too. I watched a marathon of it a few years ago and its definetly worth watching.

I'm working on the office right now and it really is great to watch from the beginning. As someone else said, each character brings something to the table and once you "get them" the show is great.

I'm with you on shows like Parks and Rec and the Office. The awkward humor just doesn't do it for me, but both are much beloved on here. AD is not quite as awkward, but the characters are often wholly unlikable. I enjoy the show, but I can't stomach long marathons of it.

New Girl is a show a lot people on here love. I think it's a bit mediocre, but apparently the first season is really lackluster compared to the other seasons.

Blue Mountain State is also hilarious, though very juvenile.

Archer. 30 Rock. Orange is the New Black is apparently pretty good.

There's obviously Scrubs, which if you haven't seen yet is one of the best shows ever created.

It's Always Sunny is much beloved (at least the first few seasons) on here. Louie is good. Wilfred is good, though very odd.

Freaks and Geeks is fantastic, though I'm not sure that qualifies as sitcom.

If you haven't seen Psych or the Venture Bros, I recommend them (though, again, not really in the same sitcom trope as Friends or Seinfeld).

Apparently the Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret is brilliant, but I haven't gotten around to watching it (too busy watching Supernatural).

Any of those are probably worth starting.

Psych is quite honestly one of the best shows on TV. Particularly for those born in the early 80s or late 70s. Or those with an appreciation of 80s and 90s pop-culture. Their 100th episode will go down as one of the best episodes I've seen, which shows they've been able to sustain a high level of quality for a long time.

Alright this list isn't really the order of quality, but they are some of the better sitcoms on Netflix. Archer isn't really a traditional sitcom per se but it is a REALLY funny 30 minute comedy show.

Trailer Park Boys - Canadian comedy mockumentary television series created and directed by Mike Clattenburg that focuses on the misadventures of a group of trailer park residents, some of whom are ex-convicts, living in the fictional Sunnyvale Trailer Park in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

The IT Crowd - Set in the London offices of the fictional Reynholm Industries, the show revolves around the three staff members of its IT department: a geeky genius named Maurice Moss, the workshy Roy Trenneman, and Jen Barber, the department head, who knows nothing about IT.

30 Rock - The series, which is loosely based on Tina Fey's experiences as head writer for Saturday Night Live, takes place behind the scenes of a fictional live sketch comedy series depicted as airing on NBC.

Scrubs - The series follows the lives of employees at the fictional Sacred Heart teaching hospital.

Archer - Set at ISIS, the International Secret Intelligence Service in New York City, suave and incredibly self-centered master spy Sterling Archer deals with global espionage; his domineering, emotionally-cold mother and boss, Malory Archer; his ex-girlfriend, Lana Kane; and his other ISIS co-workers, secretary Cheryl Tunt, and Applied Research head Doctor Krieger; as well as a less-than-masculine code name: "Duchess".

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia - The series follows the exploits of "The Gang", a group of self-centered friends who run Paddy's Pub, a relatively unsuccessful Irish bar in South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

My Name is Earl - "You know the kind of guy who does nothing but bad things and then wonders why his life sucks? Well, that was me. Every time something good happened to me, something bad was always waiting round the corner: karma. That's when I realized that I had to change, so I made a list of everything bad I've ever done and one by one I'm gonna make up for all my mistakes. I'm just trying to be a better person. My name is Earl."

Monk - Former police detective Adrian Monk has suffered from intensified obsessive- compulsive disorder and a variety of phobias since the murder of his wife, Trudy, in 1997. Despite his photographic memory and his amazing ability to piece tiny clues together, he is now on psychiatric leave from the San Francisco Police Department.

I love psych and I get a ton of the references but there are a bunch that go right over my head. Makes me sad that I miss out on some of the stuff. Just not old enough

Yes, skip season 1 of Parks and Rec.

Here's all you need to know:

Andy and Anne were dating while Andy had broken legs. All he did was play video games and mooch off of her. They broke up.

Leslie is an overachiever and she is overzealous about government.

Ron is a hardass, but you wouldn't figure this out until season two anyway.

That's really about it. You won't need to watch season 1. It's fricking awful.

Season 2, the show becomes amazing.

HIMYM
AD
P&C/Office (which should I watch first)
Raising hope or psych

The problem with the show initially is they tried to focus on Zooey character and relied too much on her "quirkiness." Once they settled into a nice balance, the show is great.
