Happy Gilmore and Billy Madison? Absolutely.

If someone doesn't enjoy those 2 movies, then that person it just a miserable person.

idk if I'm miserable, but I do tend to dislike a lot of people. Partially because they like dumb shite like Happy Gilmore and Billy Madison

There's a line everyone has to draw for themselves on how much dumb they'll accept. Your line must be right at the edge.

I'll bet you go to magic shows and scream about how fake it is.

if you were 16 when ID4 came out, I find it very hard to believe that you did not quote Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore all the time

and if you "grew up" to the point that you could not quote those movies anymore, then I stand by my statement that its just sad

I hated those movies even at the time.

I thought ID4 was cool just because of the scale of the destruction

No I still don't because I don't know you and I never will. I don't surround myself with humorless curmudgeons. Good day sir.

*Full disclaimer, Billy Madison was a good movie with somewhat original ideas, every Sandler movie since had sucked more than the last.

**Happy Gilmore was OK

Independence Day was a good movie relative to what it was trying to be: summer popcorn action movie. It was as grounded as it could be considering it was a mid-90's alien invasion movie.

ID Resurgence is pure crap. I could go on and on about how awful it is and where it missed the mark. Hard to believe they had 20 years and a wealth of potential storylines to choose from and that was the piece of shite we got. As one critic pointed out, all of the interesting storylines (Will Smith crashing, African guerrilla war w/ aliens, etc.) happened off screen.

That's too bad, I was kinda anticipating this movie. The first ID4 has it's cheesy moments, but its an entertaining movie. This one sounds horrible. Definitely waiting for Redbox.

I felt that way about the first one.

In fact, ID4 is one of my litmus test movies. When I meet someone, if we get to talking about movies, I'll throw that one out there and see what their opinion is.

If they love it I know that although they may be a cool person, and they're certainly welcome to their opinion, they aren't in line with my movie tastes.

If they hate it, we may have best friend material.

it was disappointing, even for a sequel.

I feel like it was just lazily done.

Everybody is entitled to their opinion I guess.

My opinion is that you seem like a pretentious douche.

Growing up is overrated, especially when it comes to things like entertainment.
It's pretty close to the same thing as becoming a miserable frick head who can't take things for what they are.
