Yeah that is what really really got us wanting to watch the next episode.

There were several endings like that

What really floored me was just how the show looked. The sets, the way it was filmed, etc. There's just so much shite on TV that looks awful now, to see something that was composed was just nice. (Loki is in the same category. Matter of fact, it seems like both ripped off Mad Men, which is fine by me)

Dayum, it's now my next watch.
I thought you had seen Severance already. Otherwise, I would have shouted that you need to watch it.

I've probably said 20+ times on this board that Severance and The Bear are the two best shows I've watched in the last couple of years. They are different shows, but amazing in their own right.

I know we both love The Leftovers and Severance is in closer proximity to that wheelhouse, it's absolutely terrific.

Good on Bunchie starting this thread and enamoration of Severance.

The Bear and this are now my two favorite shows on TV. Barometer shows.

I’ve watched so many YouTube videos breaking down this show the past few days.

Amazing attention to detail.

It’s like…if Lost didn’t have to do 24 episode seasons for network and actually had a plan.

Great show. Ted Lasso is probably still my favorite of the shows they have produced. Slow Horses is their most underrated.

I'll be the malcontent who thinks Severance is shite ITT.

In the 80s, kids used to snort fresh memeograph pages because it was just what you thought was cool and proper. Nothing came from it, but a bland, confusing look around the room to see if you were alone. You weren't. Everyone sniffed but had no clue why.

That's Severence.

She's like a Maggie Siff/Lena Headley combo.

I will disagree to the end of eternity.

It’s absolutely brilliant and quirky and strange and is a terrific premise. Most people turn their brains off nowadays.

I made it about 30 minutes into episode 1 today and it just didn’t click with me. I don’t know the know the technical terms but the filming, sets or whatever made me uncomfortable.

Alright I'm through episode 6 I think and I'm definitely digging it. We got murder in the mix now. It weird and for whatever reason I love weird so it's right up my alley.

Adam Scott and Patricia Arquette are both pretty incredible in their respective roles.

My only complaint and it's not much of one, is why they are ok with such a weird work environment. Everyone but Helley has worked there for years and yet none of them have ever cared to question what they are doing until someone dies and leaves cryptic messages/map. Or just being ok with work punishing you and putting you in a cell if you do something wrong. They don't know about their normal lives but they know what a normal life is so I'm assuming they would know what a normal job is and that this isn't even a remotely normal/ok job.

I have a *SPOILER* question for yall. Might be simple but it's when Mark meets Reghabi. The "security guard" guy shows up because he's I guess keeping tabs on Reghabi but I'm wondering why he approaches Mark as a friend. At that point I don't think he knew Mark was with Reghabi so I wouldn't think he'd approach someone from work as a friend. I guess it's not really even a question , just more wondering why the security guard would even go try and see Mark/what he wanted to accomplish/end goal was there. Might be answered in the next episode but just seems like an odd choice on his part or something against Lumon policy.

You’re supposed to be uncomfortable. And you aren’t supposed to have even the slightest clue what is going on 30 minutes in. This is absurd

They don’t know what normal lives are or what a normal job is. They don’t have the slightest clue of that.

It's been so long since I've seen it I can't remember the details — I definitely need to go back and do a rewatch before S2.

But you may want to check out our "live" thread from a couple of years ago, since we laid out a few talking points as the episodes were released (maybe weekly?).

You'll eventually run across spoilers, but will probably be able to tell where you are chronologically in that thread and stop beforehand.

Well I'm a zombie at work right now because I stayed up till 1:30 finishing this. What a wild ride the final three episodes were, especially the finale. One of the better finales in recent memory. Helluva cliffhanger. I'm glad I waited to watch it so I haven't been hanging on that cliff since 2022 like some of you poor bastards, wow.

After I turned the TV off because my mind was racing and I couldn't fall asleep so I looked up when Season 2 will come out. They aren't even done filming so it's best case scenario late 24/early 25.

Truly a masterpiece. Glad you liked it.

IIRC, think it was one that got hammered particularly hard by the Hollywood strikes, perhaps just as a coincidence of production timing.

Hope that doesn't become an issue with the long term viability of the series, because it's really difficult to garner support and consistent viewership when there's a three-year gap between seasons.
