Girlfriend is dragging me to this

For anyone who has already seen this-Is this actually a quality movie or is it silly propaganda explaining how black women are behind the space program?

Why does a storyline like this seem to bother you so much. Everything isn't propaganda. Man up and go watch it, it is supposedly excellent.

What? Storyline doesn't bother me. However, I do know Hollywood and have my doubts.

it's a good film and if you have any interest in the early days of the space race you will be entertained.

some emotional moments, but won't slap you in the face with preachiness.
enjoy it because she certainly will

IT bothers me personally cause of the silly notion that we need to "tell the untold story of unsung heroes".

uhhhh.....can anyone, anywhere name a single rocket scientist/engineer from that era. THEY ARE ALL UNSUNG HEROES. And if you are honestly going to tell me that these chicks were the most integral members of that team, ill laugh and nasty, spit filled, laugh right in your face.

Outside of the astronauts, most people probably only remember Gene Kranz, the flight director of the Apollo missions. But, it takes a whole lot of brilliant minds to make the space program work.

Just as Hollywood shouldn't teach you how to think neither should the alt right media. Watch it and think for yourself to determine if it is a necessary plot for a movie, etc.

Ed Harris played him in Apollo 13 and was nominated for an academy award.

You're correct. The fact that no one immediately came up with Wernher Von Braun proves your point.

And no, I'm not making a Germans comment.

Shocked that Hollywood named this Hidden Figures instead of Space Race.

Well, you're technically correct in that not "everything" is, but are you saying this movie isn't?

Nazi scientist Werner Von Braun is easily the most important person in American rocket science and one of the most brilliant minds of the 20th century. I don't see Hollywood glorifying him for some reason. I think you can make a good movie about Operation Paperclip but I wouldn't expect that to happen anytime soon.
