Since he won't, I will

Seinfeld
Friday Night Lights
Game of Thrones
Chuck
Chappelle's Show

If you want to do just sitcoms, it's much tougher, but:
Seinfeld
Community
Married With Children
Sanford and Son
Fresh Prince of Bel-Air

The craziest thing about that is that NBC consistently is the least watched of the major broadcast networks, yet 3/5 of those shows (plus Scrubs) were NBC properties. Heck, Scrubs, Friday Night Lights, and Chuck were once all on at THE SAME TIME!!!

Of the 5 sitcoms I named in the second list, only 1 of them (Married With Children) didn't air on NBC. It just goes to show you how terrible NBC's management is.

GoT and FNL are vastly different shows than Scrubs, as is Chappelle's Show.

Seinfeld is great, but it lacked the depth of character Scrubs had. Chuck is a fun show, but it isn't even as good as Psych.

Community I can't comment on because I haven't seen much of it. Married with Children was good, but nowhere near as funny as Scrubs, though I give it props for tackling a lot of actual issues in everyday middle America. Can't comment on Sanford and Son. Fresh Prince is the epitome of 90s after school sitcoms, but it was far too campy to be considered better than Scrubs, imo.

Obviously, all this is opinion, but I dispute each and every one of your contenders. Good day, sir.

I'm probably just going to end up reiterating much of what is said. First of all, I'm not big on comparing other types of shows with each other. I also don't like comparing shows from different time periods. Times change too much for it not be apples and oranges. All that being said, this is definitely one of the best sitcoms. It blended comedy with drama near perfectly. As one of you said before, it was an emotional roller coaster. The main reason for this was the quality of the characters. You gave a damn about every character from JD o gift shop girl. Dr. Cox is one of my favorite characters on tv ever. For those that never bought into this show: If you just absolutely do not like this type of show you need to give it a shot. Hell, just watch the damn finale. It's right there next to Newhart.

One of the greatest without a doubt. My favorite sitcom by far.
