Sci Fi Peeps: The Expanse

Couldn't find a thread in a search so just tossing this recommendation for the Science Fiction fans out there. Just watched Season 1 of The Expanse from SyFy Channel. Much better than I expected. Good enough to make me go get the first book. Give it a look if the idea of a colonized solar system experiencing internecine strife moving toward outright war between various human settlements and further complicated by a grand conspiracy involving stealth technology and biological warfare piques your interest.

The books are fantastic. I was a bit wary of the show, but through 8 episodes it's been fantastic.

All the books are great, except for the 4th one (I think). Awaiting the new book due in November. The novellas which give back story to some characters are good also.
The first season didn't even complete the first book. It follows the books fairly closely, not sure if they changed anything as it has been a while since I read the 1st book.

I haven't read any of the books, but after a slow start, I really started enjoying the series.
The setup is nice, the story is interesting, and the effects are good. The main actor irks me for some reason, but all of the other folks are good.
I'm debating whether to just watch the series, or read the books.

I finished this about 2 weeks ago, and I found it enjoyable. I didn't love it, but I had a difficult time following every detail due to crying baby constantly interrupting us. I will re-watch again prior to S2 airing, which I am looking forward to.
