It was a really fun experience especially on the big arse IMAX screen we saw it on. There certainly some fanatic shots in the movie all involving Kong. The characters are pretty meh, but the movie makes up for that with some really good action scenes. The final fight has a pretty badass ending on par with Godzilla's atomic breath scenes.

This movie makes it pretty clear it's a set up for the big showdown and a character explains that Kong isn't fully grown yet. Kong is also smart and he's able to use the environment to his advantage. He'll be a hell of a challenge for Godzilla once he gets bigger.

If you liked Pacific Rim and Godzilla, you'll love this one. Don't go expecting the standard Kong experience, this is a kaiju film.

Also there is an after credit scene so stay in your seat

No offense but that's a horrible endorsement to attract more viewers.

I'm with you here! I'm very much looking forward to KSI but I hated both of those movies.

I liked Godzilla but absolutely loath Pacific Rim. It makes no sense.

I disliked Godzilla, but enjoyed Pacific Rim. I've always been more of a Japanese Mech/Gundam fan over monster movies.

I still don't understand why this deserved a ride at Universal when they have such better properties to build rides.

Godzilla stayed true to it's old school roots and the older crowd should've loved it. The younger people hated it because Godzilla wasn't shown enough, but if you go back and look at the history of all Godzilla movies, he's shown the same and in some instances more than the older versions.

I'll be seeing KK this weekend.

Godzilla was a solid film. I didn't like Pacific Rim nearly as much.

Your review is actually encouraging. I remember thinking in some of the previews that Kong looks a lot bigger than I remember him looking, and hoping that we would finally get a good Kong film. I may go see it here in the next week or two.

Is he actually big enough to make a King Kong vs. Godzilla movie, or will they have to take liberties. If I'm not mistaken, that's the plan down the line. If I am mistaken, well... sorry.

Appreciate this. I always seem to forget that these types of movies tend to have these and miss these scenes.

The trailers make this movie almost look like a parody.

I was expecting giant fricking robots fighting a huge alien monsters with a oil tanker as a sword. I got what I wanted. Not looking for Citizen Kane.

On the count of Pacific Rim, I completely agree. Everything but the monsters battling big robots was hot garbage. It was so damn cheesy almost to the point of making fun of kaiju movies. Godzilla wasnt terrible when they left the monsters though. But damn in Pacific Rim they could have chopped the movie down to the 15 minutes of monsters fighting robots and I would have paid full ticket price
