I am sitting here watching this movie for the first time in a while and I'm just now seeing how big of a count she is.

At the start of the movie she is all gushy after she hears about her former school mate mentioning her in passing. She divorced Robin Williams after he threw their son a birthday party. Then she tries to take their kids away from him even though he has been an incredible dad. She has the perfect opportunity to let them spend time with him after school every day but instead she would rather have them sit at home with a stranger. Then at the same time she starts seeing Pierce Brosnan's character even when she's going through the divorce.

Just who does this bitch think she is?

I feel like you're painting Robin William's character as a much more faultless character than he really was.

Just because today would have been his birthday...

Well he had his faults but nothing that warranted the things she was doing to him.

Seriously? I honestly didn't know that.

I had to wiki the plot, and the party he threw was not supposed to happen because of the son's bad grades. He did it anyway, undermining her discipline. That's poison for a marriage.

I agree completely. Miranda was an epic count of Jill Taylor proportions.

Yeah but it's not something you divorce a guy over and then make it as difficult as possible for him to see his kids all while you're banging some british dude

It wasn't just that he undermined her authority by throwing a party. It was also b/c he got fired from his job and it seemed implied that it wasn't the first time he had been shite canned over being a jackass at work.

He also had to keep making jokes instead of having a real adult conversation. The guy was a man child and she was sick of having to be the only adult in the family.

Divorcing him was the best thing she ever could have done for the guy because it caused him to finally get his shite together.

You'd have a point if that was the only thing.

Actually, I think what caused him to get his shite together was the TV station realizing he was a brilliant TV host whose brilliant creative brontosaurus voices could no longer be stifled.

I agree 100%. He wasn't a bad man but if argue he certainly wasn't a good father figure till near the end of the movie. He went behind his wife's back, got fired putting him in a position where he couldn't support his family, and was unwilling to hold his children accountable when Miranda divorced him.

The real issue is the visitation rights and I feel like that wasn't here doing.
