For real? He was just in Daredevil, though for a pretty small role.

I am saddened there is no confirmation on a planned "Squirrel Girl" series for Netflix.

I still think she's coming. Marvel apparently had a meeting with Eden Sher from "The Middle" and I think she's going to pop up as Squirrel Girl somewhere, probably to be Luke Cage and Jessica Jones nanny on one of their series.

That can't possibly be the name of a real character....

Only basically the most powerful being in the Marvel Comics Universe.

Her super power is that she can defeat opponents who are so far out of her league it is ridiculous (taking down Thanos single-handedly, etc)

She defeated both Thanos and Galactus at different times.

That's unacceptable. Bad writing that cheapens good villains.

Yea man, David and Goliath was such bullshite.

Wouldn't Marvel have to turn her into an Inhuman to use her though? I thought it was fairly well established that she is a mutant?

I don't. And don't call me Shirley.

Squirrel Girl is a real dividing line for me. Either you get the joke and think she is one of the greatest things ever or you don't, and we're never going to agree on comics. And you probably read the Punisher.

You just don't mess with Squirrel Girl. Sorry, but you just don't.

I don't read comics, so I'll slowly back out of the room on this one.

I think it's fairly obvious that Punisher was the next step in Netflix.

I also think he works best as a foil to Daredevil and Kingpin(and Spider-Man) rather than his own stuff, personally.

While this is fantastic news, I'd love to see Punisher v Daredevil series.

As it should be.

The Punisher film with Thomas Jane is a guilty pleasure of mine

It's a solid action film, nothing guilty about that. It's one film where Travolta's overacting seems right and most of the action is well shot. Jane is convincing. I like it.

Well, it's more that they are tonal opposites. Punisher is dark, gritty action with your classic white male antihero. If you just want a bad arse killing people, then this is your bag. But I'm not really much in that crowd, and I've always found him to be one of the most boring characters in the Marvel universe.

But Squirrel Girl is literally a joke. That's the point. She's supposed to be fun and goofy. And I like fun and goofy. She doesn't just beat Galactus, she hangs out with him and they become friends. There is limitless possibility with her because she doesn't fit the standard hero dynamic. She's a girl who talks to squirrels.
