I know a few people on here watch the show. I just got done watching the first two episodes of this season (Impossible Astronaut/Day of the Moon) and I was wondering what everyone's theories were on Dr. Song.

(spoil-ahs)

I personally believe that River Song is the Time Lord child (that was a shocker, btw) at the end of the episode and the daughter of Rory and Amy.
1. At the end of Forest of the Dead (season 4), when River sacrifices herself, she says something along the lines of "You wouldn't be able to regenerate...and neither would I." Suggesting that she *can* in fact regenerate.
2. It would be a total genius move because anyone could eventually play River because she can change her face, giving Moffat and easy way out of the whole getting younger bit.

Now, I could be totally wrong, but it seems that that is where they're headed. Apparently, the episode Neil Gaiman wrote for this season is called "The Doctor's Wife" so hopefully we'll get some answers then.

Side note: I thought that Moffat kind of got back on his game with that episode. Silence was a great foe and totally creepy.

That's an interesting theory. With her being a time traveler as well, there's all sorts of things that could be happening.

I have to say, they put a good amount of thought into how to go about keeping count of the Silents. The markings on their arms/faces were pragmatic while also being creepy.

He's no David Tennant, but Matt Smith seems to be carving out his own niche in the ongoing history of the series.

That is interesting. It'd mean River kills the Doctor though, right?

possibly...if they don't end up preventing it. it would explain why river is in prison. at one point last season didn't she say she killed someone very important? or did i dream that?

Yeah, I'm with you on that, but she may be a 'different breed', kind of like Capt. Jack, both immortal and not Time Lord.
And for that matter, who is the 'one-eyed chick' that looks through the metal door before the peephole disappears? Is that Amy much farther in the future (due to the pictures).

Well, metal-eyed instead of one-eyed....she almost looked borg. Writing the intertwining story lines must be a lot of fun for the show's writers...just got to keep up with who can do what, when and why.

Wow, interesting theory

I had already thought that the tome lord child was Amy& Rory's because for it to be Amy & the Doctor's baby would be sacriligious LOL!

It never occurred to me that it could be River Song. You are right--they haven't said who she killed to be in prison. As River says...Spoilers

How would they be able to make a time lord baby?

I started to try to think about this, and then I had flashbacks to trying to figure out lost, then i pooped myself and passed out.

I have no clue

Remember how Amy said she didn't tell Rory about the baby because she was worried it would have ended up with two heads or something from all her traveling about in the TARDIS? Well, maybe it does end up a little effed up...just instead of two heads, it ends up with two hearts and the ability to regenerate.

Time lord baby?
Or,maybe the eighth doctor was right (in the movie) and Doctor Who is only half time lord and half human (not likely though).

The whole idea of a person being warped by traveling in the tardis is weak. If they wanted to start a new line of Time Lords all they had to do was use the Doctor's clone daughter.

SPOILER SPOILERS SPOILERS

Yes, you nailed it and now it is pretty easy to see what really happened in the first episode. The doctor is not really dead. That was just a flesh copy of him which is why they burned the body.

I wish they would bring her back.
